the ggg-derev fight was not mandated yet. the canelo-ggg fight was. canelo paid ggg not to fight him cause that fight had been ordered. the ggg-derev fight was not ordered until like 2 days ago. the ggg-vanes fight was a voluntary and the ibf allowed it. gggs mandatory wasnt ordered till this fight was signed. you are already revising history that literally just happened.

if ggg does drop the belt and fight someone like canelo or saunders he will be dropping the belt to fight someone better. canelo dropped the belt to fight liam smith. these are the same how???

ggg has never paid derev to step aside but he can do that now to fight someone like canelo or saunders. once again this would be completely different then what canelo did since canelo fought guys like khan and liam smith. ggg would be fighting better fighters than derev and for more money. canelo did the opposite. he fought worse fighters in smaller fights.

FACT: they selected Vanes..... despite there being MUCH better opponents available, and despite knowing full well that selection would cause an impossible log-jam in September

FACT: they ignored Saunders offer for June..... despite the fact it would solve Golovkin mando problem with the IBF, and despite the fact that beating Saunders would net Gennady his "dream"

there is absolutely no way to spin that

they are clearly tip-toeing through the tulips until they break Hopkins record.....
If Gennady Golovkin beats Vanes Martirosyan on Saturday night, he’ll tie Bernard Hopkins’ middleweight record by making a 20th consecutive defense of one of his 160-pound titles. The potential tie notwithstanding, Golovkin thinks his reign is more impressive than Hopkins’ 10-year run as a middleweight champion. The unbeaten Golovkin said during a conference call Monday that his record is “much stronger” than Hopkins’ resume when the Philadelphia native was a middleweight champ.
