As a fan it's easy for me to spout my opinion. Golovkin on the other hand has the opportunity to make millions off a high profile fight. But, as a fan I'd want Golovkin to forget about Canelo. Stop letting Canelo and team dictate your next move. GGG could have unified against Saunders in the summer of 2017 but Canelo's team didn't want him to "risk injury" by taking another fight before September. The ball is in Golovkin's court, will he chase an elusive rematch with Canelo or just do his thing for once and unify the damn division?

Golovkin did not take care of his business, so why should those guys feel sorry for him?

He may not have a choice because this doesn't fall under the category where a unification bout takes precedence over a mando. He either fights him or forfeit the title. However, I believe this is a case where Tom Loeffler is looking to cash GGG out. He knows that he only has but a small window of good fights remaining.

The obvious solution was move the date to June fight your mandatory or saunders. What a backfire

they will do EXACTLY what they have always done
avoid the mover/spoilers, and chase cheap-shine against subpar opponents who will be "available"..... until they get that Canelo payday
rinse, wash, repeat

that fight will never happen
Golovkin has shown NO interest in Saunders..... if that fight has not happened by now, it never will

1) they did to Jacobs EXACTLY what they did to Saunders..... they low-balled him with "Quillin money", and then ran off to fight a NO-HOPER..... with NO counter-offer
2) the WBA ordered that fight..... otherwsie, Jacobs would still be waiting
3) Team Bullshht did everything they could to kill that fight, including calling for an early purse-bid knowing that Jacobs would refuse 25%..... that fight only got signed well-after the 11th hour, and only because the media started making it obvious that Team Bullshht were trying to kill the fight
that took MONTHS, the fight had to be deferred at least once, causing Golovkin to miss a fight date/payday..... which makes the delay for peanuts, look pretty absurd
Golovkin literally had to be dragged kicking and screaming

Who knows when he actually would have fought if he cancelled the May date. Anyway, GGG Canelo is happening in September and Dervy will get step aside money.
Derev has already refused step-aside money..... he wants his shot
Dibella also stated, that they will not accept step-aside money
