It would actually be Derevyanchenko vs Jacobs if Golovkin is stripped.

If it hadn't been his goal to unify all the belts then it wouldn't matter. I am sure GGG's people weren't expecting this ruling when they scheduled the Martirosyan bout.

This is good though. IBF is keeping their word. They let GGG fight a voluntary, and didn't enforce the Sergiy fight with only a few days left, which would've stripped him.

Instead they allow him to fight Vanes and keep the belt ONLY if he signs an agreement to fight Sergiy in August.

The funny thing about it is: those who don't like GGG like that he has to choose to between Canelo in September and Sergiy in August. Had the IBF said GGG had to face Sergiy in December, those who don't like Gennady would've went nuts and cursed the IBF out. LOL

Welp, Gennady has to make a decision. Go after the belt or go after the bigger fight (which includes bigger status, bigger limelight, a future hall of famer, and bigger money). We will see.

But again, kudos to the IBF for keeping it consistent.

I'm over the Canelo-Golovkin saga. It's dragged on wayyy too long. The mandos GGG has are way more interesting to me.

We will finally see if this fckn fraud is Mr. All the belts or Businessman.

Which one are you Lil g? Clock is tickin.

They could've avoided all this mess had they just faced Derev May 5th and got it over with.

But no.. "he can't prepare for Derev in short notice" doe.. But Vanes can prepare for the #1 middleweight in three weeks?

They didn't even negotiate to see what Derev would've accepted they just assumed he'd say no and never even entertained it. All of their preferred replacements were jokes; Spike, Munguia and Vanes.

Derev wanted it and expressed his readiness. The least Loeffler could've done was call his bluff.

Good job on DiBella for enforcing this. It's time for Lil g to vacate every belt he has since it's obvious his biggest concern is stalking Canelo like a whore in heat.

GGG will comply with the IBF and fight Derevyanchenko after Vanes. Canelo should fight BJS and then in 2019 we have a fight for all marbles...

They got greedy keeping that date. The WBC and WBA will hold off the mandatory in order to make the Canelo fight in Sept. I think the IBF was cool with it to until Dibella started raising hell about his guy being skipped over for Vanes. They should've cancelled the date. Waited until after the BJS fight and at the same time gauge the possibility of a Canelo fight in Sept. If the Canelo fight wasn't looking promising then set up the unification with BJS to avoid a mandatory.

Now they have to agree to fight Sergiy before the Vanes fight takes place so fighting BJS next is out the window now.

I thought they were already trying to make SD v Andrade on ESPN for the IBF mandatory?

But I just checked the rankings. You could be right here.

The question is if the second spot is vacate, would they jump Danny and order the fight with another guy?

That's what happened at HW. Miller is ranked higher than Whyte by the IBF but the IBF ordered a mandatory eliminator with Whyte and Pulev.

Interested in how this turns out now
