    Why do people think $50m

Why do people think $50 mil is a lot of money? FFS...they are paying Katy Perry $25 mil to judge American idol. NBA and NFL players are on multi million dollar contracts. It's normal in the U.S to earn this type of money when you are at the pinnacle of your game. Bill Gates could cover this out of his petty cash draw and write it off his tax bill. You are a small fish in a small pond Eddie.

Its all relative bruh. But yea $50M is a lot in boxing. I bet we could take half a day & come up with all the boxers in history who've made $50M+ in a night. Thats how rare a level it is in boxing.

Duly noted...but my point was that $50 mil can be raised fairly easily in the U.S....So Eddie shouldn't fuss himself about where the cash is coming from...he should just crack some champagne and be happy all his Christmases have come at once.

Even ignoring the fact that it would probably be the top 5-10 highest purse for a boxer in a single fight, for a boxer who get paid around 15-20mil, 50mil is a lot..

They think it is a lot of money because IT IS a lot of money. Only a tiny fraction of Americans make that kind of money and few boxers ever do. You talk like making millions upon millions is the norm for Americans and that's not the case at all. Most of us will never even make 5 million in a lifetime.

I got you, my bad. Fair point.

It does seem win win for Hearn. Either Joshua gets a career high payday & Hearn sees what they figured out that he didn't & he can use that next time out with Joshua or Joshua gets his biggest payday & the promoter loses money overall by overpaying Joshua. Either way it a W for Joshua & Hearn one would think.
