I’m sure that Wilder probably has heard from showtime that theyd make it PPV or so.
If true, then obviously AJ needs to take it ASAP! No way around it.
But it does sound a bit funny. A guy who’s used to paying his opponent a few hundred grand at best and lost purse bids etc all of a sudden has $50mil guarantee without the first dollar dropping? And no promoter?
Makes sense that Hearn wants to get some clarity on that. But if serious, they need to take it.Comment

So Hearn should cancel all his plans and cancel everything else on hearing this news.....forget the contract Mr. Khan's throwing the money in cause he's a billionaire .......behave.Comment

Almost none of the stuff Hearn said in the interview needed to be said publicly. Quite frankly, all that is required of him was to say, yes we're in or like his fighter said, let's roll.
Instead, what we saw was him lay the ground work for fans to defend any hesitation in accepting or refusal of the offer. This comment thread is littered with "Hearn Talking Points".
For those talking contract, contracts are drawn up AFTER the terms are agreed upon. You don't pay lawyers to review something you're not sure the other side is going to accept. Think of it like buying a house. The closing papers are drawn up after all details are settled, but both the seller and buyer agree to the terms either verbally or preliminarily.
For those talking proof of funds. How does proof of funds change Hearn's preliminary response? He couldn't even say "we'll accept the deal if the funds are there". He went on a rant about all of the details that weren't in the offer in spite of the fact that he'd sent a similar offer two weeks ago. Funds need not be available until its time to sign contracts and contracts aren't going to get drawn up until he says yes.
Here's what a some folks don't get. Hearn is a smart mf. The stuff he says makes plenty of sense...until you start considering the timing and context. I'm not saying he doesn't want to make the fight, but there is one thing I do know, there is a minimum amount of money he needs to make in order for him to accept the risk that Joshua gets KO'd and won't be making $20M a fight anymore and $50M might not be quite enough.
My UK boxing fans and internet buds....try listening for what Hearn doesn't say. That will give you a better indication of what he's thinking.Comment

Hearn regularly gets booed at boxing shows in England so not that sensitive..... A.J. just wants to fight and can you blame him if in this sometimes brutal sport where his money earning ability can stop at any time he wants to earn as much as is possible. If the money is there i'm sure you'll see some action........period!Comment

Willing to give Wilder the benefit of the doubth here, becasue of that i think the only mistake team Wilder made is letting Wilder send the offer without a legal binding contract guaranteeing the $50 million attached with the email.Comment

If Wilder earns more than 12.5m for taking on A.J. he's done well if not he hasn't .So we'll find out soon enough if he deserved the flack.Comment

I think the problem was Wilder was being offered five times his biggest ever offer for a A.J. fight which as it say's was five times better than ever before with the opportunity of hitting the real big time for a win over A.J.

If you have to ask or need proof then you obviously don't take the other party seriously. If that's the case this fight will take a long time to make if it happens at all. How do have a serious negotiation if you believe the people you're negotiating with would make a bogus offer of that magnitude just for publicity?Comment
