Comments Thread For: Hearn: Wilder Must Provide Proof of Funds, A Proper Contract

Hearn doesn't believe it'll make that much. So of course he's going to ask who's ****** enough to put up the money.Comment

Its ok for Eddie to make 12.5 mil bogus offers but now he wants to see a contract worth 50mil. Don't fuc this up Eddy.Comment

If Hearn was genuine this would be asked behind closed doors.
You don't state publicly, "He has to provide proof of funds", you get the ball rolling by talking directly, team to team, NOT ask for proof via the media.
Either Hearn is inexperienced as a promoter or is just laying the groundwork for another excuse.Comment

Wilder wants a response within 24 hours to an offer without contract and proof of funds that is pathetic.
Look seems reasonable Haymon can produce proof of Escrow account Friday and a contract Friday when he see Hearn asking them to do more than say they are interested is silly.

Hearns talking Sence again but daftys play daft to it
£50 million and it’s game on $50 is roughly £36 and where wilder wants it by the sounds of it
Don’t care for these offers back and forth anymore one guy has 3 belts sells ours stadiums on ppv the other had one belt never had a ppv fight in his life in forty fights .
Wilder takes the fight and wins and he’s in the driving seat . Reatarded articles everyday are getting old
I’m guessing wilder is gonna pass and fight breezeele a guy that has done Jeff all for his position to fight for the pbc belt
He’s trying to act like he has any sayComment

I'm sorry but some of the comments about this are commercially naive.
You don't make a binding agreement to a fight based on an email from the fighter and a public statement.
A deal is done when both parties have their interests fully understood and protected. That means that there is a contact to sign and funds must be seen to be in place. This is incredibly basic.
At this point Hearn has said the only thing he can. "If it really is 50m we're interested, show me the money and the contract."
Wilder's team don't have to have the cash in the bank. They could for example have a contract in hand with Showtime or other parties eg sponsors with huge guarantees. But however you cut it those funds must be rock solid.
Don't blame Hearn for doing his job. Any competent promoter would do the same. And if he's asked to respond to Wikder's public statements about the offer, the only thing he can say at this point is exactly what he said.Last edited by petegrif; 04-26-2018, 12:11 PM.Comment

Hearn is asking for a date and venue and other things yet when he made that flat fee offer to Wilder, there was no mention of any of that just a 12.5 million flat fee. Hearn doesn't want to be left out and let Haymon and DiBella run the whole show as they're the ones who made the big offer to stage and promote the fight.Comment

Get this man out of boxing. Be so glad when AJ leaves this snake. Then he’ll vanish back off into irrelevancy. He can take his garbage cards with him. He’s going to ruin Danny Jacobs stockComment
