He will never be a star, just Floyd's failed little project. He has no real personality or charisma to speak of, is barely coherent, and not even that great in the ring. He checks literally none of the boxes required to be a superstar.

Davis team making him look weak..but if Gervonta did wanna fight Loma he'd just come right out and say it.

exactly why he needs the loma fight. he can't sell himself outside the ring. he does get knock outs but nobody will care when he's openly ducking a fighter with a pulse and chooses to fight bums instead.

Only his mother or parents will know the meaning. It's not an common name with a origin to a region. The name with in it self is definitely African American of some sort. Gerald -Avont or avant like the singer (Gervonte). I don't why the a is there but a,e,i,o,u and sometimes y are vowels. You gotta ask him lol

In other words they don't want Loma derailing their train before they can make more money fighting lesser opponents

True for most of his career. However, I really don't think he's ducking Joshua at this point. This strategy also worked wonders for Mayweather's entire career, so I'm not surprised Davis is trying to emulate his approach.

Wilder was favored fairly wide over Ortiz it was considered a risk, Joshua was favored over Klit it was considered a risk. That's two recent examples.

I think Loma-Linares is somewhat of a risk too going straight to the #1 lightweight who holds a size advantage.
yup no tune or nothing. its a very real risk linares is a very skilled boxer who's only weakness is his chin but loma isn't a big puncher especially fighting in a heavier weight class. its testament to how good loma is that everybody just assumes he wipes the floor with linares.
