Just because one may have a boat load of money, it doesn't mean one is eager to part with it for nothing. It's called return on investment. The only way that Wilder generates a huge return on investment, is if he faces and defeats the best in his division, thereby raising interest in seeing him fight. Nobody's interested in paying $10s of thousands for front row seats, nor are a million plus people willing to pay $100 PPV to see Wilder fight Breazeale. Hence, the current $2 million purses Wilder gets paid.
Can I ask one SERIOUS question about this 50 million offer

i've answered this severla times. you guys don't have a clue about finances in boxing in the states, and that is fine. just gotta be quiet and learn something.
wilder fights primarily on showtime and they have a finite budget. they won't pay more than 2-3 million dollars a fight, it cuts into the rest of the year's boxing. remember alexander - bradley? awful fight that ended in a headbutt? got an HBO exec fired and reduced the budget on hbo for the rest of the year and beyond. american fighters fight to premium cable and million dollar paydays, but if they want to get into the next tax bracket they go to PPV. and believe me, americans want to see big, strong, athletic dudes with spooky power like joshua and wilder, and will pay for it on PPV.Comment

Joshua has a deal with Showtime don't you think they'd contact Hearn and say they're putting up the guarantee if they were? FFS think for once.dude this is not eh kiddie pool, this is CBS and showtime with a strong relationship with al haymon. those two working together are aruably the strongest partnership in boxing right now along with eddie and sky, and they certanly have more money and serve a larger market. ask eddie, he's said it before, the end game in boxing for this match or any other is on american ppv and in las vegas. wilder has more upside, and more powerful / wealthier backers! haymon had 400+ million in capital to start, and though some is gone, he's certainly got plenty of his endowment left!
there is no shopping around! CBS cuts 50 million dollar checks several times a quarter! they gave floyd a quarter of a billion dollar deal and dealt with him directly! they're basically a promoter! and they promote boxing matches that have been several times this size!
while it's obviously not an airtight contract that's been hashed out by both parties, this is an offer designed to get the ball rolling on negotiations to hold the fight in las vegas and on american PPV. eddie can take the fight, it can bomb, and joshua's side can still make 50 million. and if it does well they've got a split.
there's nothing wrong with this offer as a starting point. brits are starting to move toward the idea that a "contract" is the same as an offer, and it is not!Comment

It’s because AJ-Wilder is a fight that can generate much more revenue than any of Wilder’s previous fights, it’s common sense really.
None of us are qualified enough to make a valid projection of how much revenue this fight will generate but obviously Wilder’s team feel this fight will make enough to make paying AJ $50m a worthwhile investment.Comment

dude what is unrealistic about wilder being bankrolled by the most powerful man in boxing, al haymon, who has CBS in his pocket?
CBS dealt directly with floyd and paid him a quarter of a billion for a five fight deal. this offer is backed by the most powerful people in boxing with the deepest pockets! now that HBO is on the slide showtime and CBS are the biggest TV network players in this sport! that's who is backing this offer!Comment

this fight easily sells a million ppv. alvarez and golovkin sold well over a million and they don't even speak english and one is from a country nobody has heard of.Comment

if somebody is not thinking and just picking his guy in this it is you!
showitme has nothing to do with this? the network broadcasting the ppv has nothing to do with it and is not providing funding, the way they do with every wilder fight which they buy?
is that whaty you want
?

Deal that doesn't exist? he would end up getting the money either way if there's a contract. If they don't pay, they can demand. Just like with any contract.Comment

Joshua has said categorically he wants the fight in the UK.Therefore Sky will take priority, as they are Joshua's Go to Network.Showtime's contract is up with Joshua and they have a handshake agreement with Wilder. If Showtime/CBS put the money up or helped this deal their would've been rumours or sources coming out that they intervenedif somebody is not thinking and just picking his guy in this it is you!
