What should be noted, however, is that Clenbuterol does have a pretty fast metabolization rate, and normally exits the system in 3-5 days. You can get a pretty good idea of when you ingested something based on the metabolites present in your body. So he had a very small window to work with.

The fact that Canelo couldn't produce any sort of alibi about what restaurant he may have eaten at, or where he got the meat he ate in that very small window is what put the icing on the cake for me.

I mean, he should have been on a manhunt to find the source of that meat. I know I would be. Then he'd be able to say "see, look! we just tested more of the meat from "X restaurant," or "X supermarket," and it has clenbuterol!

Not true Canelo provided receipts, credit card statements of the meat they believe caused the positive test. He wasn't suspended because Nevada said we don't believe you ate bad meat. Unlike USADA and other commissions and even VADA/WADA who recommend reviewing and taking into account meat contamination Nevada said we changed our rules and have a strict policy. According to Nevada doesn't matter if it came from meat if it's in your system we have to suspend you. But Nevada, Golden Boy, WBC all have stated that Canelo did provide proof of what he ate.

Obviously saying everyday is hyperbole but he is on record saying his fighter will do strict testing to prove himself. What's wrong with that?

Well he is on record so you can hold his feet to it. Obviously everyday is hyperbole and not possible even the drug testing agencies can't provide that. But if he's tested strictly and I believe Nevada stated that is part of the conditions when he returns anyway. So stop whining the rematch in Sept will have more testing.

Can you link me to where it says that?

I just don't remember ever seeing Canelo publicly coming forward and telling people "this is where it came from - I found out this is where it came from - don't eat here, etc, .etc" then if he told us where it came from, we could go and test that meat ourselves to confirm it. IDK = I be trying to do anything possible to get the public to believe me.

I'm guessing this just happened at his hearing with the commission?

Did they test any of the meat, though? To find out if it was actually contaminated?

The one thing I still want to know - is have they done actual tests to see if people eat contaminated meat - exactly how much they have to eat before they can actually detect metabolites in their urine?

All these are questions I'd love to know.

I still think the most plausible explanation, is that Canelo intentionally was taking clenbuterol to get a competitive advantage. It just makes the most sense to me, and seems most probable.
