You see, the big fights that people want tend to make a lot more money.

But your point is valid. Hearn has to do due diligence on checking out this offer. Especially if it came direct from Wilder himself, and not his team. But if the deal and the guarantee comes from Wilders side, so does the control of the fight. Meaning venue, tv rights, etc. my comment was geared toward someone posting that “They want the fight in US, blah blah Hearn shouldn’t accept etc etc” which is bull chit. I personally don’t see how this fight doesn’t do 1 mil buys which would generate 100 million. But w cable companies taking 50 percent it does leave team wilder at risk of not getting paid. Regardless I wanna see the fight and good job from USA calling Britain’s bluff.

Fight generated 400 million - about half of that is what Mayweather and Pacquiao split. So basically Floyd probably got 120 million, and Pacquiao 80 million (before their taxes, and promoter/manager fees, etc.)

I pointed out that you actually have to enforce the judgement, and if one side files bankruptcy,UCC Article 9 gets involved, which can entail a very complicated, drawn-out legal process in which you are far from "guaranteed" the money that you signed on the dotted line for..

Moreover, this was all in the context of what a true guarantee offer is supposed to be - and Wilder (backed by Showtime, and CBS, as you claim without any proof) hasn't done anything close to that.

And yes, criminal law is completely different. However, I still went to law school, and had to take contract law.. I've read more briefs than I care to remember on scenarios involving one party trying to enforce a judgement.

1.5 million buys from Sky = $40 million (not sure if the split is half but call it $20 million to the fighters) ***this number is almost a certainty, Joshua's PPV numbers are solidified

Live Gate at T-Mobile = $30 million (I believe promoters keep these proceeds) ***pretty strong data to support this number for the gate

This does not include sponsorship fees (which would be $5 million - $10 million) ***again strong support for this

Site fee and closed circuit (unknown)

Merchandise and misc. ($5 million) ***speculative, but merch sales for MayPac was north of $20 million

So taking the conservative ranges on payout:
35+20+30+5+5= $95 million pot for the fighters

This whole thing rest on assumptions made about the US PPV and live gate numbers.

I assume they are tracking this fight closely to the Alvarez v. GGG fight. When you think about the time horizon and the obsession with HWs, it's not that far fetched that this fight could actually beat that 1.3 million buys figure.

Remember Alvarez and GGG are not household names here at all. Wilder and Joshua can do some serious press events here too. This math isn't all THAT crazy to imagine.
          ^^^pretty much this.

With Wilder and Joshua both able to do all of the press (NY media run, ESPN interviews, daytime TV, even the late night shows with Colbert and Brit James Corden on CBS), this fight has the chance to crossover to the general audience and truly launch.

You don't know much about the legal system, do you?

How long it takes for those suits to actually get resolved? AND THEN, even after you win the suit, and wait for all the appeals processes to be finished, you have to actually ENFORCE the decision. Over a civil matter between two private parties, the courts can't just go into the other dude's bank account, they have to put liens on property, garnish earnings, etc. If the other dude files BANKRUPTCY? Oh, good luck fighting over the UCC article 9 code regarding who gets what, as I'm sure there will be other creditors coming after money, and property.
Wow. So it doesn't matter what Wilder offers, because you know, it might take a year to get all of Wilder's holdings. Wilder is going to file bankruptcy and Haymon?!?

You are beyond a freakin ******. You make ******s look Stephen Hawking.

I do know how law works. If Haymon signs that contract, AJ will get it. That is how contracts work. When has Haymon or Wilder ever promised a fighter money and not paid???? Oh, man it might take a year with courts, and then what if Wilder and Haymon both suddenly retire and declare bankruptcy?

Your entire argument is, Haymon is not going to fulfill his end of the contract. lmoa. Lay off the crack man.

              • To me It sounds like a PR stunt that will generate more views in MR Windmill next fight against a bum just to have more leverage when they truly get to the table to negotiate the fight.

For now, it looks like a PR effort.

I would love to see the fight this Saturday, I am sure W goes down.

The offer is all talk until they send the contracts.
Funny. You had this to say about contracts vs offers...

Why would you now expect to see a contract before everything is agreed ?

Interesting this has been out for hours on multiple mainstream outlets, and neither Hearn nor AJ has said they have received no offer.

If this was not true, or if AJ meant it when he said he would sign immediately for $50 million, then Hearn and AJ would be saying "Show me the contract, and you got a deal."

They are not saying that. They are being asked about Wilder offering $50 million and they are suddenly talking about Brazeale.

                    DUCK DUCK DUCK

$50 million. And AJ is still scared!!!

When has Wilder or Haymon ever said they made an offer when they didn't? If it isn't real why is HEarn and AJ so quiet? Why would they not say the offer was never made? LMAO.
