What's fishy. They're all plugged in with Showtime. Obviously Showtime itself would be getting involved at that point if they're offering Joshua that kind of money up front. 50 million is one Mayweather fight on Showtime, and they have no PPV's planned last I checked.

Here's hoping Hearn sits down with Haymon and DiBella and they come to an agreement on everything else (Hearn will no doubt insist on a rematch clause for Joshua) but you'd hope with this much money at the table they will come to an agreement.

A calculated gamble, I'd imagine. They have a sense of what the 2am fight might draw based on the times that Floyd was on Sky Box Office, they have a sense of what they can earn in Las Vegas from a monster event across MGM Resorts, and they've got a pretty good gauge for the expectations on PPV if given the full push by Showtime/CBS (three episodes of All Access + Epilogue, constant plugging of the PPV across the rest of the Showtime boxing calendar and the PBC calendar, possible push on CBS in the daytime and on late night, etc).

No easy nights at all, but not a loser bet either.

If it's a real contract then it's more than fair and will be signed but it's also fair to include a guarantee and where they intend to do the fight as Hearn requested.

Can't just say "50m" take it or leave it. Hearn has every right to ask for that money to be guaranteed, no?

Unless there's a real contract sent then there's no real offer. Let's see how the next few days unfold. Seems you just want to label them duckers and claim people don't want to see the fight and have a very one eyes view on how everything transpires.
