Actually a good move from Thurman. Why rematch them both when one can eliminate the other. Fight the winner and then hopefully win then we can see him vs Spence.

If Danny was as confident as you we would've seen that fight already. I'm not saying who wins but Danny has behaved real hoe-ish at the sound of a Porter fight. His fight vs Rios was essentially pointless dog sht.

I think Porter gives Danny Garcia that work.

If Thurman wants to be great he needs to avoid inactivity. Might be too late.

Puts less pressure on him to face Spence or Crawford.

Thurman probably wanted a total bum. He might have wanted an 0-0 guy and argued Mayweather did it with Mcgregor. Who really knows. All we do know is he didn't even want smoke with Jessie Vargas.

I think Danny's smarter, more disciplined, and has enough power to make porter pay for being wild.

The question is does Danny want the fight? Does HE believe he wins?

I like Thurman and I think this the right call for him. He is obviously not ready to fight for some reason wether it’s injuries, his wife doesn’t want him fighting . Who knows but if you ain’t fighting you should vacate.
