Has boxing turned into a diva sport, compared to other combat sports?
In sumo, the wrestlers only fight those promoted to the same level as themselves. In UFC, the best fights the best constantly. In kickboxing, the situation is the same as in UFC. In combat sports in general, the best fights the best. In boxing, though, we have divas like Golovkin and Mayweather, who are always so sickingly careful about who they fight and who they don't.
In other combat sports, they have serious weight divisions. In UFC, for example, it goes 125 lbs, 135 lbs, 145 lbs, etc., that's a logical system. 10 pounds should be the minimum distance between two divisions. In boxing, there seems to be hundreds of different weight divisions... That's a ****ing joke. If you lose to a guy who is 2 pounds heavier than you, you lost because you're a worse fighter, don't use those 2 silly pounds as en excuse...
In boxing, you can always become a champion even without fighting any good opponents. There are so many free belts flying around that the title of "champion" doesn't mean **** anymore. You can be the WBC/WBA/IBF/KKK/HBO or whatever champion now, it's confusing as **** and robs us of soo many good fights.
There is basically only one fight point in which boxing is more masculine than MMA. At least boxing doesn't whine about steroids as much as UFC does, we should just make that **** legal so we can get better fights.
