This guiy knows **** about boxing. Marciano took a punch, went down but always got back up. Didnt matter how many times, he alwasy got back up and whopped your ass. He was unstoppable. Everybody was small back then anways, but guys awrre a lot tougher too and he wa s the toughest. Id liek to see you take or dish out the punishment he could. You'd crumble so quick. He was a beast.

This writer tries to use the Korean War against Rocky, and does so pathetically. The Korean War was not that big of a war when compared to Vietnam or WWII. Oddly, I don't see this writer criticizing Joe Louis for dominating in the WWII era. I don't see this writer criticizing Ali for dominating the Vietnam era. Simply put, if Rocky is overrated for fighting during the Korean War, then Jack Johnson is overrated for fighting during WWI and you can put Ali and Louis in the overrated boat as well.

Also, using Rocky's size against him is pretty lame; a mere hollow attempt to degrade him. It shows how weak your case is when you resort to that. Rocky was a decent-sized heavyweight for his time. Louis was bigger than average for his time. Should we say Louis is overrated because he was bigger than most guys he fought? Maybe the Rock would be too small to best the larger top 10 heavies of all time such as Lewis and Foreman, but that cannot be used against him. Fighters are judged within their own era. Joe Louis would get smacked around just as easily as Rocky would if he were to share a ring with a prime George Foreman. That does not mean that Joe Louis is not a top 10 heavyweight of all-time.

This article smacks of unchecked bias. Perhaps the person who wrote it should consider writing comic strips for Bazooka Joe bubblegum wrappers.

We can still go on what he did, and that is to beat everybody that was put in his path.

I still think it is hard to judge him among the "Greats" of the Heavyweight division when you are talking about some of the bigger guys over 200 pounds.

If he would of beaten a few, maybe even one, legit, big, Prime, Heavyweight over 200lbs, it would be a bit easier, but he wasn't in the right time.

When talking about "Size", it usually can make the difference, but sometimes a "Great" fighter can come along that isn't the same size and beat the crap out of the bigger fighter; you also have to remember that sometimes size can work against you.

You’re talking in circles. If size of a fighter doesn’t matter, in your opinion, then why would you want to see Rocky beat guys over 200 pounds before you would call him legit?

There is just too much hate and biased opinion coming from the people trying to discredit Rocky. It’s pretty damn blatant and evident too. Who cares what origin Rocky came from? I don’t give a rat’s ass.

The point is that it really doesn't matter what size Rocky was. He finished his career 49-0 with 43 knockouts. That's pretty damn amazing. I am not a fan of his nor do I take any pride in any of his accomplishments. Hell, I never even saw him fight live. I have only seen the old films, as have most of us here.

The bottom line is that no one should even try to take anything away from Rocky. He was tough and the people loved him. He fought everyone in his time so what the hell else matters?

To the idiot that said Rocky's power was overrated, and said that Louis, Walcott, and Moore hit harder "easily" they didn't have more power, they were just faster and more accurate. Walcott I is what happens when he lands flush on the chin, he just got stuck with hitting them on the arms and to the body most of the time. He wasn't a technically superb fighter, and nobody's saying that. He took on fighters that were always more skilled and took shot after shot in order to KO them or break them down with brute force and unshakeable determination. This guy said Walcott and Charles were past it, Walcott threw punch after punch and danced around the ring while taking Rocky's shots for 12 1/2 rounds, what heavyweight does that now? And Charles? He fought his ass off in that first fight, 15 ROUNDS!
What heavyweight fights for 15 rounds these days and finishes a fight taking that much punishment? Did you see his face? Rocky fought at a handicap his whole career and willed his way to a
                  49-0 record, that's why he's such a celebrated fighter.
