i have no idea how you came up with 117-111. thats an awful score
I defend it. Like I say, six rounds were close and could have gone either way. But when I'm listening to the commentary team (SKY, not HBO) talking about Wright getting predictable and Jermain stepping up a gear - when my EYES are showing me Wright landing rights with no comeback from Taylor - I'm giving the round to Winky.
It depends what you want... power shots, 90% of which are blocked... or accurate, lighter punches.
Wright was hit with more than 10% of Taylor's power shots. Wright was visibly stunned more than once, and his face was busted up at the end of the fight. Wright blocked a good amount of Taylor's shots, but his defense was not as effective as it was vs Tito or Shane.

See, this is what a lot of people are saying... just because a fighter has to struggle through adversity does not mean they lost the fight. We're not used to seeing Winky take so many punches, but why shouldn't we be used to seeing a boxer get hit in a boxing match?
Well obviously, but Winky was hit and damaged more than ever. That's why people take issue with your scorecard. Power of the punches do mean something, and when you look at the compubox numbers, it is apparent (and just by watching the fight) that Winky landed more, but not the more-telling blows.
This would tell you it was a close fight, and not a 6 point sort of blow out like you have it.
But everyone sees it differently. I only watched the fight without scoring it. I got the feeling it was very close. I'll hafta score it next time I watch it.

I know, but you gotta admit I've got nuts for putting it up, right?

This is where the disparity comes in, and what caused three judges to see it differently... do you like power punches or cleaner blows landed? Yeah, I'm obviously aware that Winky didn't particularly hurt Taylor, but he outboxed him enough, I feel. Though I don't have issue with the decision (especially as I won money on it).

See, I wouldn't say I have it as a "blow out". I had six rounds that could have gone either way... Winky just edged them for me by the narrowest of margins, something that can't be expressed in my score.
I had it a draw 114-114. No one won that 12th round. If someone did, they would have won. I did have Taylor winning the 3rd round thou...many gave that one to Winky.
I had Winky wide (117-111), though there were many close rounds and Taylor did impress me with his skill at being able to hang with a vet.
i had a draw.....the traded round the entire fight...winky landed petty jabs while taylor landed power blows...i think the last round decided the fight...winky should have kept the presure on...he didnt so they had to give it to taylor....
....I didn't see the fight until last night as I had friends in town and some other stuff to do on Saturday. I had Taylor winning 115-113. It was a great fight and the amount of action surprised me.
