The 160 landscape is a mess.

160 might be the only division packing 7 elite fighters in GGG, CHarlo, Jacobs, Nelo, Derev, Andrade, BJS and should be fireworks BUT...

    1. You have the bigger star at 160 Nelo suspended

    2. You have the champ GGG fighting bums and waiting after a Nelo paycheck instead of fighting other elite 160 pounders.

    3. Then you have the others elite 160 pounders Andrade, Charlo, BJS, Derev, Jacobs fighting bums too and begging for a GGG showdown instead of fighting each others.

160 isn't going nowhere at this point.

Those 3 fighters you named are mandatory to GGG. They don't have to beg. They earned their shot

Indeed. I just don't get it, especially as with Nelo out it could have become so clear if GGG had signed to face BJS to achieve his 'dream' of unifying. If that fight were to happen whilst Nelo is suspended then it'd just be a case of Nelo coming back and getting first dibs at the winner of GGG & BJS and then the likes of Andrade, Charlo, Derev and Jacobs in play for their chance.

        Yea you aren't wrong.

I brought up pre-GGG vs Canelo II in May that the division is bottlenecked cuz there are so many guys who are 1 fight from a title fight, legit or in theory, so most cats don't wanna or are being advised against taking on bigger challenges right now. I feel there is a very good chance thats happening for the rest of 2018 now with this whole GGG vs Canelo II thing.

Definitely a mess. Hope I'm wrong & we see 1 or 2 fights between these guys over the course of this year along with Canelo vs GGG II.

They need to strip GGG if he's just going to fight bums and duck mandatories while he waits for his Canelo payday.

Exactly, and that's my point, the whole boxing business is fcked up, always waste the best fights with those different promoters, different "word champ belts" and different medias (HBO,PBC).

So GGG has 3 paper belts mandos? Cool, those multi organization doesn't make sense especially when you have a unified champion like GGG.

He will probably fight BJS and Nelo next for the WBO and ring belt.

I know you will try to put this on GGG, your agenda is pretty much obvious.
GGG can't fight 3 mandos on the same night.

The sad thing is most of those 7 elite guys I mentioned will never fight each others.

I think that sht wouldn't happen with only one belt/organization.

I just watched the WBO rankings for fun:
              1 Demetrius Andrade USA
              2 Daniel Jacobs USA
3 Walter Kautondokwo (WBO Africa) NAM
              4 Maciej Sulecki POL
              5 Gary O'Sullivan (Int-Cont) IRE
              6 Martin Murray UK
              7 David Lemieux CAN

              8 Sergey Derevyanchenko RUS
              9 Steven Butler CAN
              10 Tommy Langford UK

I'm not sure if I understand everything about this garbage but GGG is not even ranked while he beat 3 guys in that top ten lol

              Boxing is a non sport.

All the ABC Group rankings are just a different logic of ****** to me. So I only pay attention to the Transnational rankings:

                1) GGG, 37-0-1
                2) Canelo, 49-1-2
                3) BJS, 26-0
                4) Jacobs, 33-2
                5) Charlo, 26-0

                6) Lemieux, 38-4
                7) Derevyanchenko, 12-0
                8) Murata, 14-1
                9) Khurtsidze, 33-2-2
                10) Murray, 36-4-1

But yea if there was only 1 belt then yea being in the top ten at all would have a lot more value. And being any spot among the top 2, 3 or 4 ranked guys would have some nice value too.

Honestly 160 has been a mess for years, it was thrown out of whack when Cotto beat Martinez and then never even defended the belt at the full weight. You had Golovkin beating everyone else while Cotto didn't want to know, so you had this bizarre situation where Golovkin had all but 1 of the belts but Cotto was the lineal champ. Then Alvarez beat Cotto and carried on doing more or less the same thing up until last year which leads us up to what we have now. Until the rematch delivers a conclusive result this mess is going to stay the same.
