The thing I don't understand is everyone is saying Wright should have taken a risk to win the last round, but I didn't see Taylor taking any risks in the last round. Taylor was backing up for the first two minutes of that round, and he wasn't throwing punches. Winky was landing jabs, backing Taylor up, and stepping out of range or moving to the side when Taylor occassionally decided to throw something. The only time Winky backed up in that round was the last 20 seconds. I don't see that as running, I see that as good boxing. Taylor did nothing, so why should win that round? I'd like to hear one good argument why Taylor should have won the last round. I'd like to hear one positive thing he did in that round to make the case, not an argument based on what Winky didn't do.Originally posted by mic573The keywords are "he felt he had already won". That doesn't mean he won or was winning the fight. He should of definitely taken the risk in the 12th round. This was a close fight and he knew it was a close fight so he should of done everything possible to get the win in the 12th round of a close fight. This wasn't like the Mosley or Trinidad fight where he clearly dominated and could celebrate a victory.
I can't have any sympathy for Wright because I feel he basically gave the fight away.Comment

Taylor fans are saying a draw is the best decision and Winky fans are saying Wright got robbed, see the difference. Nobody felt that Taylor did enough to win the fight but on the other hand Winky did.Originally posted by ParodyExcellent post my friend! The draw was the best decision.Comment

Of course u think taylor won the 12th round look at all those ****en bets in ur sig, ur just stickin wit ur pick! Regardless of if winky won the 12th round(which he did cause he did more then taylor and why is it that the focus was on him, why shouldnt taylor have done more) the fight wasnt even close to that point, u dont get points for hittin another mans gloves and thats all i seen the whole damn fight, occasionally a punch would get threw here or there, but if we start scorin fights on people hittin someone hard on the gloves because they supposedly have power like taylor rather then scorin clean effective punchin that everyone sees like what winky did to taylor the whole fight then whats blockin good for??? People get penalized for good defense now a days???I thought blockin punchs regardless of how hard they are means ur doin better then the next man if ur hittin him all night clean and hes not hittin u clean, but i guess people want to estimate now a days rather then look at whats really goin on. HBO warped the minds of the viewers who think taylor was in the fight cause he wasnt, Lampley Yellin "7 straight shots from taylor" When taylor didnt even land one shot, they were all on winkys gloves, biased bull****.Originally posted by ParodyBoxingscene, HBO, *********, FightReport, boxing talk, MaxBoxing, Espn, Sky Sports, all of them gave Taylor the last round, as well as the 2 judges.Comment

Dude before calling anyone biased you should look at yourself, you scored the Mayweather vs Judah 114-113 for Mayweather, you scored 117-112 for Raheem in Raheem vs Freitas, How JMM won 11 out of 12 rounds in the Pac fight, you also predict Larios is going to beat Pacman easily, Tarver to **** up Hopkins hell just read your own username to see how biased you areOriginally posted by moraleskospacisbackOf course u think taylor won the 12th round look at all those ****en bets in ur sig, ur just stickin wit ur pick! id love to see where i said larios would beat pac easily and if i did say it it was only to get pac nuthuggers mad, but i did say it aint gonna be a slaughter like u guys think the last time i spoke about it...Im actually not biased at all, i just dont allow hbo to think for me like u do. i scored mayweather judah 7-5 for mayweather so 114-113 is impossible, i said it should have been that way if the knock down counted...raheem did beat frietas IMO. Morales is one of my fav fighters, but i admit he got beat down by pac and schooled by raheem easily, i have no problem admittin when the fighter i want to win loses, and so what if picked tarver to beat hopkins, i was wrong, nobodys always right and ur definately not always right... And sayin that marquez won all 11 rounds was an exaggeration, but he did beat pac IMO. and 8-4 for winky is the best way to score that fight so u can ease off my **** now...Last edited by moraleskospacisback; 06-18-2006, 03:32 PM.Comment

Wright did absolutely nothing emphatic in the 12th round, therefore it is pretty absurd to say there's 'no way' Taylor won the 12th. Wright can blame himself if he wants to blame anyone for losing that last round on anyone's card.Comment
