    Jermain Taylor appreciation time...

I must give Taylor a hand for being a pretty classy guy. I didn't catch his post fight interview last night, but I saw it today and he was very level headed about the fight. I liked what he had to say.

He fought a hard fight and did his best against a tough-for-anyone opponent in Wright. Even though I had winky winning 7-4-1 (best case Taylor won 5 rounds) Taylor still gave a pretty good account of himself.

So Taylor gets some respect for me. Once he starts to win his fights more convincingly and steps out of this shady decision circle I (and his detractors in general) will give him more love.

    A few other comments:

-Theres no way Taylor won the 12th.

-Chuck Giampa looks like a giant *****

-I wish someone could create a highlight reel showing every missed punch that Taylor threw...and then the ensuing comments made by Jim Lampley insisting that he busted up Wright with a savage combo.

-A funny moment was in the 7th when Taylor landed some good shots and Lampley fliiped out like, "Wright is BADLY BADLY HURT!!!!" and then Wright proceeds to land about 5-6 unanswered shots on Taylor.

Well most ringside observers, ESPN and Rick Reeno will disagree with you about the 12th round.

      That's nice.

I'm pretty sure Me, Gringo and about virtually thousands of people who watched the fight saw the 12th dominated the first half by Wright, a mediocre little stretch, and then Wright celebrating in the last 20 seconds.

Taylor definitely gets more respect from me for wanting a rematch to settle it. I get the feeling Steward doesn't really want one though.

Wright needs to stop being a cry baby. It was his own fault he gave away the fight. His punch output should of been much higher and he should have fought the 12th round.

What I don't get about people who say Taylor won the 12th is that TAYLOR DID NOTHING. If you cancel out the 1-2's that pushed Taylor back into the ropes a few times early, and the one flurry that Taylor threw and landed 2 punches, Wright still wins because:

-he was controlling the pace for the first 2 minutes

            -he landed more punches

-he landed the best punch of the round in the straight left hand under 10 seconds that stopped taylor dead in his tracks

He thought he had the fight won so he fought a cautious round, but that's no reason to say he lost when he did more in the round.

Okay but getting away from that ****...

Taylor is a good guy, if he doesn't rematch with Wright I hope he goes and beats someone like Abraham. After seeing this fight, Sturm would be a very tough test for him too. Sturm is very similar to Wright, maybe a little less educated game, but is much bigger and stronger. His jab would have similar effects on Taylor. I think Taylor would take him out because Sturm isn't a very active fighter.

I scored the 12th 10-10, I hate to do that in the final round of a title fight but neither guy did anything.

I think that he need to slow it down a little and fight someone he can just pound on.
