Promoters can play hardball with HBO just like they can with Showtime, ESPN etc etc.

There is only so much hardball that can be played when A) you're operating on a short time line and B) when you're contractually tied to a network.

Why can't he? If he fought at the start of June he would have 3 months before a September fight.
Pushing the fight back he would have a better opponent and more $. He chose the easy fight and easy $ instead.

Says the man who never trained for anything harder than a beer pong tournament. Saying he could have just pushed things a month assumes training for that extra month wouldn't have hindered the 36 year old GGG's performance, that he doesn't get cut or hurt, that it happens in the early part of the month and that the other side is easy to negotiate with. As we've already seen with divas like Chris Eubanks Jr, Canelo Alvarez and Danny Jacobs people who fight GGG tend to drag their feet.

The only side I hear talking about this fight is GGG's and his fans. Haven't seen or heard anything about Canelo's or GBP's take on it. Have they even mentioned it once since the cancellation?

He said he was willing to take the fight on short money, just like Vanes. He didn't say he wanted to much money or priced himself out. Sounds like GGG priced himself out because Tom said GGG needed more money to take the fight

Its is widely known that is all they offered. Anyone who has been following this story knows that HBO offered chump change. That's established fact. I have enough on my plate dealing with people who distort reality that I am not going to look up the multiple sources that said how much HBO offered.

The thing Is Triple g doesn't have to fight on May fifth. He's not Mexican.

His not being Mexican doesn't matter. He has a lot of Mexican fans, he already hadn't fought since last September and his training was geared towards having him in peak shape on May 5th. So he wanted to have the fight then.

He can easily postpone the fight and fight BJS or another fighter for more money.

I love how all these non-professional boxers talk all this ***** about how easy for a 36 year old professional to just adjust his training schedule and still perform to the best of his abilities.

Sergei D turned him down. There was a 800K offer from HBO for a Sergei D vs. Demetrious Andrade fight in December. Andrade turned it down because he said he didn't have enough time. Then they were offered 500k for the fight with no set date and Lou Dibella admitted it was hard for his fighter to take the fight when he had previously been offered more for it.

Ok I'd just heard HBO turned the fight down and I didn't pay attention to it much after that. But my point is Sergei was willing to take short money for GGG. Even Tom said that. The reason he'll take the short money against GGG is because he's wants the belts and the recognition. He doesn't get that from fighting Andrade for less money.

We always talk about guys wanting ridiculous money to fight GGG but here's a guy who was willing to take short money for the opportunity.

I've read Alot of articles where dumb ass Triple g nuttriders like you keep saying that HBO only offered a million dollars but I've yet to see from a reliable source. So unless you can back that up with a link from a reliable source then just shut the fucc up and stop saying that!
