Yea. No one is really happy to see this fight. We're settling for this fight because the alternative (since they are going to try and make the Canelo rematch in September) would be for GGG to sit out.

Problem with that, is he hasn’t fought in 2 entire years.

This fight is quite frankly embarrassing.

        1. He’s not a 160 pounder nor is he a big 154 pounder.

        2. He hasn’t fought in 48 months.

        3. It’s a short notice fight.

Spike, Derevyanchenko all would’ve been better fights.

WBC said they’re going to order Charlo/Centeno vs Golovkin after this weekend. So either way, Golovkin is going to have to defend against one of his mandatories this year.

so vanes has 2.5 weeks to get ready from a 2 year lay off.

          GGG is a bum.

Vanes joins the middle weight divisions 1 year after Charlo and 6 months after Andreade. Vanes has 3 losses on points to Charlo and Andrade and Lara, the only fighter that both chose not to fight.

If Golovikin wins I expect to see the rematch in September...I'll be there.

I don't know why anyone is surprised. This is the same Golovkin that fought Brook and claimed he was the only one willing to face him.

You can blame Canelo for failing the tests but you can't blame him for Golovkin replacing him with a less than stellar opponent.

I don't have a problem with the fight but it's a good indication of what a fragile state the sport is in.

Good for GGG. At least he has a fight and not totally wasted his training.

Well he fought the top 10 of his division for awhile. Not many superstars, but I won't complain, not much at least.

He's built himself up and now in the last phase of his career he needs to close strong. If he fights Saunders in the fall that would be cool or Canelo rematch. But we'll see what happens next.
