The IBF won't sanction GGG-Vanes. Title will be stripped if the fight proceeds.

Dude, there’s no debating this either Golovkin fights his mando in Chenko next or BJ Saunders to unify the belts or he can say goodbye to his IBF title. The IBF won’t be giveing Triple G an exception to fight anyone else, his mando is due either step up or lose the belt simple as that.
Any other questions?
And to be clear, I do not approve of this fight. I don't like this fight at all. It's dangerous. It's unfair.Comment

I think he just wanted to fight. He's been out for nearly 8 months and that would be close to a year by the time he re-schedules something. He's had a full training camp and probably has a guaranteed purse around $3m or so. The sanctioning fee's that the IBF charge or the marketability of having their belt will never equate to that $3m and lost momentum. He also has more freedom for his next fight with less mandatories.
If he can keep winning then Saunders next then Charlo, Clenelo in May and then whoever wins fights whoever has the IBF belt in the fall of 2019. Not the worst scenario and having an extra belt now may force the other guys to fight each other to earn the fight with GGG or Clenelo instead of sitting around waiting to get the call.Last edited by chrisJS; 04-18-2018, 09:56 AM.Comment

Ring is not a sanctioning body. But you're right. But as an aside, the Canelo and GGG fight was actually ordered by the WBC.
And again, the IBF would not have sent a letter saying they will strip GGG if he fights Vanes, and that they need to approve a voluntary defense IF they indeed were enforcing the Sergiy fight.
They wouldn't bother saying any of that. They'd simply say "fight Sergiy or be stripped". They obviously are allowing a voluntary defense, just not against Vanes. That's my entire point.
Now, after today's ruling, we will find out exactly if the IBF decides to enforce the Sergiy fight OR if they'll continue to allow a voluntary.Comment

they dont have to enfore their mando:
All Other Weight Divisions
1. Mandatory Defense Obligation
Each Champion so recognized by the IBF in his respective weight class from Mini Flyweight to Cruiserweight shall mandatorily defend his Championship within
nine (9) months after its acquisition by him in a contest scheduled for twelve (12)
rounds against a leading available contender as designated by the Championships
Chairman.
Once this initial mandatory defense obligation has been satisfied, the Champion shall defend his championship within intervals of no more than nine (9)
months against the leading available contender in his weight class as designated bynthe Championships Chairman.

So obviously it had to be ENFORCED in order to strip him. That was my only point.Comment

thats my point too, the 4 week notice, the only one rushing a date is ggg, ibf does not need to order a fight for may, they can order him to fight sergiy next regardless of the date...
if ggg wants to do it in that date and can convince his mando then good for him, but like you said ibf cant just order a fight for that date..
I just dont see whats the prob........quackComment

Yup also reporting that tickets will go on sale today. So GGG making the fight even after yesterday the IBF notified them that they refuse Vanes as an opponent and warn him that he would be stripped if he made the fight anyway. They must know Canelo suspension will be done before sept to allow the rematch. Otherwise why make this fight and why put out the NODRAW video yesterday if he is suspended for 1 yearLast edited by AKAcronym; 04-18-2018, 09:59 AM.Comment

I think this is fair. GGG can fight Vanes in Cali on May 5th if he wishes. Derevchenkyo earned his title shot and deserves to get it. He shouldn't have to wait for GGG to fight Canelo again, if he even does.
Rolling Pin dela ******* and Clenger (half clen, half ginger) are basically getting to delay the GGG fight while putting him in a situation where he might get stripped.
GGG is hurt more by Canelo cheating than Canelo is.Comment
