Linares made the fight with Lomaputa because he has a better chance to win that fight. He wasn’t trying to get KTFO by Garcia. After Lomaputa slaps Linares to death he can still come back from that. Rebuilding your career after a devastating KO is harder.

Yes, there were almost certainly sound business reasons why Linares took the Loma fight; Top Rank might have put more money behind Loma than GBP would for Linares to fight Garcia? Esp if Garcia wasn't going to sign any options into the deal?

I would have preferred to see Linares- Garcia unification before either one of them fought Loma.

I think Lomaputa would drop that title so fast. If he did fight Garcia though I’d give him major props.
