Comments Thread For: Crawford: Thurman's Right; I Must Prove Myself at Welterweight

Terence Crawford agrees with Keith Thurman. In fact, Crawford would've said something similar to the statements Thurman made in October if he were in Thurman's position. Thurman's comments generated great debate when he claimed Crawford must become "relevant" within the welterweight division before the unbeaten WBA/WBC 147-pound champion would consider fighting Crawford (https://www.boxingscene.com/thurman-crawford-relevant-welterweight-we-fight--121474).

Very diplomatic response by Crawford! Thurman needs to become "relevant" at 147 ASAP, or they need to strip those belts from him!

Very classy response from Crawford here.

Thurman is AWOL. He has no interest in coming back for the beating that awaits him lol

Most belts, best wins, best viewership ratings, best attendance and the #1 spot.

Not too many fighters would respond this way so kudos to Bud. I really want Crawford to turn up the heat on Horne when they fight! Usually Crawford is really quite leading up to fights but Jeff has struck a nerve for some reason and I feel it's not gonna end well for him! Now I just gotta figure out whether or not I'm gonna shell out $5 to watch this....... Who am I kidding?! I know I'm gonna give in!

But no KOs since 2014 (Julio Diaz), 1 fight in 2016, 1 fight in 2017, and an expected tune-up for 2018? That's not getting it done for me, and it's not a good look for a guy that calls himself "One-Time!" I was a fan of Thurman until he started telling guys like Spence Jr. and Crawford that they need to "work their way up to his level."
