Ward was dirty, no question. He pushed the boundaries of the rules...but that's the difference between pro and amateur. He found a way to win with know how and grit over physical talent a lot of times. He probably works on stuff in the gym that most fighters don't really think about that much.
Why does every Ward opponent say he's a very dirty fighter?

Proof is in the fights. Anyone can look at the footage to see Ward was as dirty as they come. There are even YouTube compilation videos of this guys dirtiest moments...elbows, headbutts, low-blows, pushing, etc. Kessler suffered four cuts to his face and head from Ward's forehead and elbows. Hopkins was just about as bad.Comment

He is a dirty fighter and a clinching, mauling, illegal holding and hitting fighter. Most of his fights were in the Oakland area where the refs let him get away with it. The guys who fight him consistently say he is dirty fighter because it's true.Comment
