Wow Manny didn’t even contact him that’s disrespectful considering how much Roach did for him and I’m not even a fan of Roach at all he’s hella overrated but still he did a lot for him...

I don't think Pacquiao needs anything new to beat Matthysse. It's not like Matthysse is in his prime, he's 35 himself.

I'm not very surprised by that. You might not remember, but a few years back, Roach was asked is he was in contact with Cotto. Roach said that Cotto was staying in shape between fights, and Cotto calls him to talk all the time. Roach went out of his way to say Cotto called him on Christmas. He was then asked about Pac, and he was pretty short about it, but he said Pac doesn't really talk to him much, he tried to defend it by saying Pac was busy with politics. Then there was the fact that for his last few fights, Pac started training with Buboy in the Philippines, before he would train with Roach, and maybe you'll remember, Pac told Roach he wanted to use Buboy's fight plan for the Mayweather fight, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case for Pac's more recent fights. Arum and Konks have been tying to convince Pac to leave Roach for years, ever since Roach made that comment about Pac's money. Writing was on the wall, I'm not surprised Pac didn't call Roach, I'm more surprised it took this long for them to split.

Yes but Pac is a dinosaur at this point of his career and coming off a year layoff.

Matty might be past it but he's not a freaking fossil like Manny is.

I just don't think Matthysse is big enough to rough him up like Horn did. Matthysse wasn't all that impressive against that last guy he fought either. I think Pacquiao still has the speed and precision to slice up his face and we've all seen what happens to Matthysse once those eyes get hurt.

I just think that this deep into the game, Pacquaio is going to do whatever he wants to in the ring regardless of who is "training" him. You can rarely teach an old dog new tricks. I think he just wants to give Buboy a big payday, you know?

Still, pretty harsh thing to do to Roach. At least tell him before all the media peoples.

Good points. You never know at this point of their careers tbh.

I think Matty has more ICE in his arsenal right now though.

some people just have a hard time laying off people.. i dont think manny contacted alex ariza personally also.. even trump dont personally fire people who has served in the government for decades which is so unprofessional as a president..

still it's an admirable quality for anyone to give a courtesy of talking to that person personally if you are laying him off..
