This is a good step up, I remember when Velez was undefeated right when he beat the nephew of Salvador Sanchez then out of nowhere he lost 4 fights in a row, he is a tough fighter, Golden Boy sure believes in Garcia.

Good step up fight for Garcia. Velez is a tough ex title holder who should test Garcia's ring IQ and skill.

Also if this event gets sold out and Garcia looks impressive that is a statement for him going forward.

O'Sullivan hopefully gets a solid opponent like Falcao next.

Velez has never been a title holder I mean unless you count the interim silver belt he won against Salvador Sanchez nephew but he was never a champion got a draw in his title fight against Gradovich which he should have lost

Very interested to see how Garcia comes into this fight. In his last fight, I saw him come in like his ***** didn't stink and he backed it up, not sure how long that'll fare

Rojas is on hold because the Santa Cruz/Mares fight. He's the mandatory for the winner. That fight was supposed to happen late last year then got delayed. Doesn't want to take a fight and risk a injury or get upset and lose his mandatory status. Sucks but the same thing happened to Errol Spence after he got the mandatory status stayed on the shelf waiting for Brook rather then take a interim fight that could effect his title shot.
