Manny was paid 25 guaranteed (Could have been more) in his last fight. It would take him 2 fights to earn more than 40 mil...
Manny was a star in his own right selling over 1 mil PPV in his career.
Wilder has sold zero PPV and only had 1.2 mil viewers in a non PPV vs Ortiz...
Wilder is being offered 5 times his last headliner show agaisnt Ortiz...
Manny was offered a deal LESS than double his last fight so no he should not have taken it.
Wilder is being offered 5 times his last fight so yes he should take it.
What is a better deal? An offer of 1.6 times your last fight or 5 times your last fight?Comment

" If Wilder hits the next level with this fight, thats more important than another 12 million or so. If he fights regularly at that level and eeks out a few more peak pay days, it will do him better than trying to negotiate for one big pay day. "
Agreed
What is the next level ?
Breazeale and Whyte are two guys Joshua has defeated .
Adam Kownacki ? Maybe if your Polish it is great fight . lol
Reality is Wilder is looking at a minimum of 5 years of fighting ASSUMING he fights 3 times a year to make close to the 2 fight deal which would be in place even if he loses TWICE .
I cant see how anyone logical or unbiased is against the offer UNLESS they think Wilder cant win or wont win .
Wilder will also eventually fight Prince Martin so hey i guess thats what his fans have to look forward to ,just more guys Joshua has defeated ? SMH
Maybe the fight doesn't happen until 2020 but WHAT IF Wilder loses ? How dumb will his advisors look then ?
"As usual great minds think alike lol. Yeah if he does not take this with perhaps an attempt at a percentage, etc then he might be scared of Joshua after all. "
Definatley in agreement with the above here !
There seems an awareness that Wilder is a valuable opponent. That he can state he is on the same level for negotiating purposes as Joshua...
On the other side others are aware that Joshua has value. He beat the best as well.
Promoters look at risk and reward scenarios... Joshua has more drawing power right now and if he loses that would have a material affect on his value. Thats a major consideration financially regarding how the fighter's are valued.
Wilder's risk is minimal. If he loses, or wins, his fan base won't change much, he can only benefit by winning over more fans. Joshua stands to lose more than wilder lose and gain less than wilder gains in this fight.
That is a major consideration for the offer. boxing, like all other economic things has a natural efficiency of market... If one takes a wild puncher who can perform, or not, any particular day and puts him in with a boxer puncher, who is scrutinized like Joshua is, and who has been the anointed front runner, the market will reflect this. The fans are the market, they buy the tickets.
I think Wilder will be allowed to make a few requests on this offer. A percentage of some sort, a rematch clause,a few odds and ends. It will be interesting to see what happens J!Comment
