Wilder is the best heavyweight in the world. I believe if he fought the Joshua who fought Parker he'd have knocked Joshua out. If a slow , old Klitchko could get to Joshua then Wilder would ring his bell and then follow up where Klitchko couldn't because he was gassed and Joshua's management knows this. There is no question Joshua is hoping Wilder balks at the low ball offer, 60-40 was more than fair but the issue here was giving an offer that Wilder would hopefully refuse so Joshua can line up more tomato cans

What you base your predictions on if heavyweight is not hot in US for 20 years? It's 2018 and nobody in US wants to watch heavyweights, Wilder proves that time and time again. How many non PPV 10k crowd fights you need to see before you realise facts?
I don't dispute the division being in a low period but learn how to read a trend, the guys you see...Joshua, Parker, Wilder, Ruiz, Whyte, beazle, etc are the names that will get thrown in the hat and change the state of the division. Fights have to get made, things have to progress, then we will see stars emerge. Joshua has drawing power partially because he fought Vlad. He is the guy that vanquished the old guy at the top, Vlad's fans were there as well.
People will watch the heavyweights when they fight and it narrows. For years nobody watched Floyd and then he fought De La Hoya right?
Your problem is even though you are correct about the state of heavyweight boxing, you are not looking ahead... Do you remember who was champ before Ali? I know you can look it up... the reason it does not come into your head is because patterson, from Marciano before and Liston after, was not a particularly strong point in the heavyweight division. Give it some time to develop and you will then be able to see who has star power in the division... You have no way of knowing what Wilder will become...nobody does, we can only know his qualities and how they may affect the division down the road:
He is a puncher which is exciting to people, he is loud and confrontational, which excites people, he is got other guy to go to war with, which means good fights can be made....so new england is spot on really. Now...Maybe Joshua sparks him out, first round... that would present another set of possibilities right?
So... I spent ten minutes as requested, at this point you either get it, or you do not. Boxing is global, it is not Las Vegas, or any other stadium that is the issue. Fan interest, contrary to the idiots who inhabit the boxing landscape now, is not an entitlement, and on that point I agree with you, in so far as if fans are not given good fighters and good fights, they will not show up to fights. England does support its fighters well, but there are plenty of cultures in america that also support good fighters. mexican fans stay away from the heavyweights because he fights are crap, agreed... but when things narrow and we get the better guys emerging, and IF they are allowed to fight each other, it won't matter if one is American, in Vegas, or not.
The opposite is true: Ward was always a hometown draw, whether he fought in Oakland or vegas, so was Gatti but a lot more fight fans existed in his area.Last edited by billeau2; 04-11-2018, 11:39 AM.

The stipulations depend J...If he is smart perhaps asking for a piece of the proceeds instead of a flat fee. But if he negotiates a decent package he can take home a decent amount. The hard part being to just get a percentage, a nice take and not be obligated to anybody lol.
What many people miss is that you have a time line. During that line your peak earnings are defined not just by how much you make a fight, but how many fights you can have in that time period. So... If Wilder hits the next level with this fight, thats more important than another 12 million or so. If he fights regularly at that level and eeks out a few more peak pay days, it will do him better than trying to negotiate for one big pay day.
As usual great minds think alike lol. Yeah if he does not take this with perhaps an attempt at a percentage, etc then he might be scared of Joshua after all.
Agreed
What is the next level ?
Breazeale and Whyte are two guys Joshua has defeated .
Adam Kownacki ? Maybe if your Polish it is great fight . lol
Reality is Wilder is looking at a minimum of 5 years of fighting ASSUMING he fights 3 times a year to make close to the 2 fight deal which would be in place even if he loses TWICE .
I cant see how anyone logical or unbiased is against the offer UNLESS they think Wilder cant win or wont win .
Wilder will also eventually fight Prince Martin so hey i guess thats what his fans have to look forward to ,just more guys Joshua has defeated ? SMH
Maybe the fight doesn't happen until 2020 but WHAT IF Wilder loses ? How dumb will his advisors look then ?
