    Keeping it in Perspective:

Every single fighter on the earth dreams of landing a seven figure pay day. No fighter on the planet would even consider risking a 4 million dollar pay day to please a hand full of fans...nobody...not single fighter or promoter on earth, not even your favorite fighter which just happens to be Derevyanchenko this week and next week it will be someone else.

    • Here’s the thing: GGG and Co. are in a mess and need an opponent, a ‘realistic’ one. Haters and fanboys may have their agendas and blindly spew it everywhere but the fact is this really; if GGG faces a mandatory, history will not slate him for it.

At the end of the day if this is the way it plays out then when it’s all said and done and we look back at it years later, Alvarez ruined this fight so GGG ended up facing a mandatory instead. Haters or fanboys can say whatever they want, history will remember that with a ‘meh, ok fair enough’ attitude given the situation.

The fight ruined due to something out of his hands and it’s a few weeks away and he hasn’t got anyone to fight. Makes sense to just oblige a mandatory to me. It isn’t a superfight anymore, it’s a ‘tick-over’ fight. Get it over with.

      • IMO GGG has 2 reasonable options:

        1. Move off the date and fight Saunders or Andrade in June
        2. Fight Derevchenko in Carson City, Cali or Vegas

I understand people want him to fight the best available opponent. I would agree in every other circumstance except in a situation like this.

GGG should not risk losing the Canelo payday because Canelo cheated. Should he lose to an Andrade Derevchenko or Charlo, which is possible, then the Canelo rematch may never happen. That is completely unfair IMO.

Muniaga and O'sullivan are fights only the GGG diehards care about because they wants GGG to get an easy title defense so they can claim a "record". I find that weak and corny but given the situation I can't fault GGG if this is the path he takes since Canelo cheated.

At this point Team GGG needs to sh-t or get off the pot and decide.

Cong**** for being that guy at the UFO crash site telling onlookers there is nothing to see here.

You are the Agent Smith’s of all bum arse Agent Smiths... Here is what makes this a not so “standard” and highly special GGG gets privilege situation...

          - Does a fighter normally get an opponent rejected in Jaimi Mungiau (or whatever his name is), request another NON COMPETITIVE fighter (Gary Spike O'Sullivan) over a waiting mandatory and even switch the STATE and ARENA within a month to get it approved?

All on a timeline that could not possibly allow for the waiting mandatory to be met? And then believe they should not be stripped of the IBF belt?

          - Doesn’t The GGG request to fight Gary O’Sullivan nullify any intent for an exception such as a unification with Sanders or even a massive fight (Canelo)? So why are you okay with the implication that there is nothing preventing GGG from fighting his f’ing mandatory?

          - Sure captain obvious there are many potential outcomes of any meeting but isn’t the key to the article whether it’s fair to Derevyanchenko to have team GGG take these remarkable steps to avoid fighting him as a mandatory? And ruin a huge day for Vegas boxing in Cinco De Mayo?

          - When is it normal that IBF fighters just do not fight Mandatories with in 9 months because they need an easy fight? Is that not against an IBF rule? So you are citing it as standard that champions can bypass their mandatory and the timeline? Because the Mandatory with 11 fights in as a pro is just “too f’ing dangerous,” to take on when he has had less than a months notice? So one again it’s okay to switch states and fight a tomato can instead? All on the biggest fight day in boxing where events such as the Boxing Expo have been scheduled in Vegas and Mexican fight fans probably will not come out because GGG is fighting a non Mexican tomato can in California!!

          - Lastly is it standard that the Mandatories promoter would have to participate in a meeting to discuss why any of this is remarkable BS?

Yeah right bro there is absolutely nothing new about any of this. Matter fact all boxing should just run this way. Why did they even write the f’ing article?
I stopped reading at "there wouldn't be a story to be told"

This is a boxing news site, slow boy!

GGG made around $15million for fighting Canelo, so that's the magnitude of the payday he's hoping for in a rematch, if it happens.

Wow!!! pussie g fans love using that when it's a threat to pussie g. What did Adama do? What did Wade do? What did 34 other bums do?

When Andrade, and Charlo, and now this guy want to fight pussie g and step in for Canelo you f@ggots don't want to see it. Y'all know pussie g is a fraud.

Didn't GGG challenge Froch at 168?

So why change stances when it comes to Ward?

Why did he say Ward was high risk/low reward and then after being pressurized and called out on his hypocricy, offer 164 catchweight or no fight?

Why was he whining about Canelo catchweight and then turning around and demanding a catchweight from an inactive fighter returning from years of inactivity?

All this after saying anyone from 154 to 168?
Boxing is a risk reward business and you know it.

Ward is a special fighter and he's bigger but can't draw enough money to merit the disadvantage in going up in weight. That's real world, that's fact.

Going up in weight to chase Chavez for 3 million is a no brainier that Charlo, Andreade, Jacobs and every breathing 160lber would jump on.

Now I don't know who your favorite middle weight is but I can guarantee they would NOT go up to 168 fight Ward today...out of retirement. Not Charlo, Andreade, Jacobs or anyone else unless they were paid Pac/Floyd millions.

If you hold every middle weight on earth to the same standerd that you seem to be holding GGG to, then you can only come to the conclusion that they all suck.

As a GGG diehard, I'd love to see him claim that record, for what it's worth, and go on to get the win he deserved against Canelo. But I'm a boxing fan too, so I'm hoping he fights Derevyanchenko next.

But what you say is correct. At this stage of career he can't afford any slip-ups, so nobody should **** on him for doing what so many fighters have done in the past, and will do in the future - take the easiest path available to the big money.

I think the sanctioning bodies will make that decision for him this time.
