Vegas = 4 or 5 AM for UK fans and 6 AM for Germany I believe. The viewers will definitely be lower and most likely sponsors for advertisements etc...

We are talking about PPV with someone who is a proven UK PPV star. It will definitely be affected.

The issue is, someone questioned why not in Vegas. That is a valid reason why not.

I know plenty of people who do not stay up for boxing at those hours, but will watch when its at 9 to 10 PM.

Many UK pubs etc show his fights. At 5 AM very few pubs will be open for it too.

If you do not see the negative affect then that's fine.

Hatton sold a lot more than expected, but if that fight was in the UK at 10 PM, then surely it will do more.

I think it's a slightly deceptive example to pick however, it's the result of a lost purse bid, an overpayment designed to get Wilder's belt to Russia financed by povetkins wealthy backers. Does it represent what wilder can typically command in the market place?

But it's the only way to know what he'd really command in the open market. Otherwise, all we have to go buy are commission listed purses for in house fights, which are often wildly inaccurate. So when someone claims Wilder has never made more than $2 million, that's most likely not true. Just as Cotto made way more than $750,000 for his retirement fight, Wilder is likely paid way more than his filed purse.

Whereas in the purse bid situation, we know the listed number is actually accurate. The $5.2 million is the only purse we know for sure is legit and he actually got the money, so it is his highest payday we know of.

Does Charles martins £6m fee for risking and losing his belt to AJ accurately reflect his value in the marketplace?

One of the problems in these discussions is that the British commonly wildly exaggerate purses to generate tabloid headlines while Americans commonly wildly deflate purses to avoid taxes and sanctioning fees.

So fans who don't know any better will look at an inflated UK purse and a deflated US purse and attempt amateur business analysis that winds up being extremely inaccurate.

Martin was paid a flat fee, not a percentage. He had no upside. So even if the $5 million wasn't inflated, it was nowhere near £6m.

All of this just attempts to distract from the fact that clearly Wilder brings more to the table than Parker and Wilder will get a higher percentage than Parker did. Anybody saying otherwise has no idea how this business operates.

Nielsen Media Research ratings released Tuesday revealed viewership for Hurd-Lara, the main event of Showtime’s tripleheader from Las Vegas, peaked at 521,000.

The average audience for Hurd-Lara was 490,000.

Unbeaten British superstar Anthony Joshua’s unanimous-decision win against Joseph Parker was watched by a peak audience of 379,000 and an average audience of 346,000 on March 31.

A same-day replay of Joshua-Parker peaked at 483,000 viewers and averaged 430,000. Showtime’s same-day replay from Cardiff, Wales, began at 10 p.m. ET.

Considering Lara is such a bore and Joshua is so loved by an ENTIRE COUNTRY, why is there such a disparity in numbers?

I think you lost track or quoted the wrong post cause I'm the one saying it should be in the UK, even though I'm from the USA.

I don't doubt the time zone is a huge issue on PPV either way.
