If this is true and the move includes HBO picking it up and moving it off ppv that's a win for GGG and everyone involved. GGG avoids an embarrassing PPV flop and a empty Vegas arena. Golden Boy gets a cut since they promote spike and helps promote this. Undercard guaranteed is aired on R1ngTV live. Probably add Ryan Garcia to the card to help sell tickets. If this happens all parties are making it clear they locked into a Sept canelo/GGG rematch. This is a easy fight with no threat of GGG getting upset and killing the rematch. Fans win because you don't have to pay for it.

Yup especially when the failed test was over a month ago and numerous better fighters for weeks have said they are willing to make the date on short notice. GGG wants a easy low risk fight it's that simple. Could fight Saunders in june because its all about the belts remember but turning it down to fight spike. lol Stay busy fight to keep himself in the canelo sweepstakes for sept. This is Loeffler waving the white flag after telling fans don't cancel your Vegas flights and hotels. Learned quick GGG is not a Vegas fighter and was going to flop badly. lol

Only saving grace is fans might not have to pay for this mess. But GGG had tons of better options of fighters on record saying they could fight that date and better options if they just move the fight 1 month.

I think those two are on different levels, unfortunately for competition. Him wanting to make a showing may be trumped by a GGG wanting to send a message about a cancelled fight.

Worst case Munguia gets hurt but that responsibility is mostly on Munguia's promoter for allowing him to take the fight. Hopefully (if this even happens) the kid surprises everyone with a good showing, not getting knocked out, winning some rounds and collecting a big check. If he were somehow able to win it he would immediately supplant Clenelo as the biggest star in Mexico. There would more than a little justice there.
