I don't think the Price fight was. I think Povetkin's previous fight against Hammer was the eliminator and the Price fight was more of a keep busy / introduction to potential PPV audience for an eventual AJ fight:

Russia - In his arguably most important fight in several years, Russian Alexander Povetkin (33-1, 23 KOs) secured a one-sided yet workmanlike unanimous decision

"Povetkin became the number one challenger to Anthony Joshua, current World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight super champion. Povetkin faced and defeated Christian Hammer . Thus, according to the previous resolution issued by the WBA Championships Committee that indicated that this would be an elimination fight for the super championship, Povetkin has the opportunity to challenge Joshua," a WBA rep told BoxingScene.com in a statement.

Whyte is fearless whatever else you say about him much better than than the rest of the "I'll only fight Joshua brigade". Having only one meal ticket is hurting the division.

Agreed . I’m starting really like the guy always brings it 100% and willing to fight anyone

He’s done it the hard way too ... fair play to the guy . I think a lot of fans are warming to him too which is good for the fella

Like you said no one wants to take risks that could scupper the Joshua pay day . At least the heavy weight scene is looking fun for the next few years

Hopefully the ***** gets back in the mix

What a clusterf@$#. So Pulev's ordered to fight Whyte, Whyte wants to fight Povetkin, Povetkin wants to fight Joshua, Joshua wants to fight Wilder... Hearn wants Joshua to fight Miller... Plus you've got Whyte also lining up for Wilder who is content to yap about fighting Joshua!
At least Povetkin and the WBA are on the same track!!

Whyte is the boogeyman off division, the most feared boxer. Nobody wants him, even though it would be a nice pay day for everybody. Wilder can`t even say his name and he would fight everybody not named Whyte.

This is awesame what status has he got beating Chisora by split decision.

No one wants him because he is garbage. He almost died fighting old man chisora, his greatest achievement i's getting flattened by AJ.

                  Get off the hype train.

Helenius fought him with 5 days training. And whyte still couldn't touch him. Hardly ther stuff of nightmares.

Reality is, Wilder is scared off this guy. he would get a career payday against Whyte, but he knows he can lose.

AJ and Chisora are both much better than Wilder.
