I don't see how people could score it for Taylor, but whatever. He's the HBO Cash cow and they had to keep it that way.

exactly.. if is wasn't for his aggression he would've been shutup out.. winky picked the majority of taylors punches off with his gloves.. he landed a few shots here and there.. and what really pissed me off is when jim lampley kept sayin.. "oo theres a punch that landed straight up the pipe" meanwhile winky CLEARLY blocked it.. it happened numeriousl times.. he should talk alot less during the fight

I think we have the benefit of watching on tv that makes it easier to see those shots are being blocked. Live, sitting low to the ring and to one side, you might not see the subtle blocks that Winky uses.

A lot of the times that Taylor's right would split his guard, Winky would turn his body so he would catch the punch on the inside of his forum and it would glance his cheek, but the didn't land clean. It's amazing how crafty he is with subtle movements like that, but if you think of how that would look at ringside, it would probably look like the punch landed straight on. Unfortunately this fight is a prime example of how you can stay in a fight by throwing shoe-shine punches and by throwing huge shots, even if they aren't landing. Taylor's style looks great to a judge sitting ringside, because he's so emphatic and you can hear how hard the shots are landing, even if they're being blocked. Winky, on the other hand, does not dodge the punches, but he blocks them with very little body movement, which may not be obvious, and he doesn't throw booming shots, but they're accurate.

Here is the problem that I had with the scoring. It was not a robbery, but you could make that argument.

The rounds that Winky won, he really WON. No doubt.

But...The rounds that I gave to Taylor you could have made a valid argument to give it to Wright.

That is the problem, Winky fans are seeing those close rounds and just calling them for Winky.

honestly, i had winky winning it by 2 rounds , but i think he gave the fight away being that it was in memphis and was pretty much a completely pro taylor crowd. if he fluried in the 12th he could have got the win but he thought he had it wrapped up. maybe in jersery or vegas he would have got the win but like i said i think he made the mistake of letting the judges decide. and the judge who scored 115-113 for taylor shouldvt have been a judge for this fight. hes from that area, and on top of that scored for taylor in the 1st hopkins fight.
i dont really like all that flashyness when your just hitting someones gloves or just missing completely wich is why i had winky winning the fight. Lampley was all over taylors **** too, i hate this guy. getting all exited when taylor would land 4 or 5 shots to winkys GLOVES and ****,, get the **** outta here, they need to replace that biased *****. ****s suposed to be boxing, not a hypefest or favored decisions.

b) Super close fights aren't robberies. It's idiots like you who throw around the word "robbery" to close fights that could've been scored either way. Holyfield / Lewis was a robbery, not this.
