I dont think he quit cause he was still going toe to toe in the 12th.
I do think he wasnt expecting Hurd to big that savage, strong and to keep the pressure so much.
Lara didnt fight his game he fought to hurds. Thank god.

I think he thought Hurd was so open he would be able to stop him that's why he stood with him for the most part. Ended up taking too much damage especially to the body. Wore him out. Close fight though.

Hurd was too big and too strong. I don't think there's too much Lara could've done. He tried to trade. He tried to move. He landed hard accurate shots. Hurd was not going to let up. Lara didn't quit but Hurd beat the stamina out of him.

Backpedaled too much and didn't let his hands go enough. When he did throw, he was connecting much more crisper & cleaner than Hurd, but the constant relentless pressure wore him down and the left hook to the body took it's toll. At one point late in the bout Lara was holding his right hand so low that his right eye became the target and it was a mess by the end of the fight.

I don't think there was much else he could have done, Hurd was so much more imposing physically.

He caved into fan pressure and tried to be something he's not. He should have stayed the boring and safe fighter he is and rack up points with his superior jab.

I think Lara is the 2nd best of the current 154 pound boxers but Hurd is the best.
Do you think he would beat Jermall? Lara that is.
