I love a rematch. Before the fight, the odds were against Lara because of Hurd's dominating come-forward style. Lara was hitting clean the first 2 rounds, even surprise Hurd going to the inside (Hurd fell down twice, his got no balance).

“I was surprised,” Hurd told a group of reporters following the biggest victory of his five-year pro career. “He did stay there toe-to-toe more than we expected. We thought he was gonna run the whole, entire fight, you know, try to move on me. I don’t know if it was because my pressure wore him down or if he felt like he had to kind of stand there to prove something, let me know he’s right there with me. I’m not sure what it was, if he felt like he was behind. But he did stand toe-to-toe and it surprised me.”
If Lara did what Hurd thought, it would of play into Hurd's game, maybe get the KO in earlier rounds. So Lara must of figure to hit clean from the outside, and come inside to reduce the reach of Hurd. Kind of similar to Andre Ward's strategy against Sergei Kovalev (rematch), however, Lara stay way TOOOO much in the INISDE. The last time Lara fought a taller and hard-hitter fighter was Paul Wiliams (6'1), that experience of figthing longer opponents probably made him box a different kind of style he wasn't use to.

I don't mind Charlo fighting Hurd, but Hurd might want to polish up his skills and footwork before going against all-around fighter.

But I think we all want to see the unification fight between Hurd and Charlo for all the belts.
After Jermell said Hurd took the easier fight, I would like to see how he does against Lara. Fortunately for Jermell, there will be no pressure for that match-up to happen.

It's was a very good fight, but Lara takes a beatdown in a rematch.

When asked after their fight if he would be willing to fight Lara again, Hurd said, “Nah. I mean, we don’t need it, man. I think I went out there and did what I needed. I made it clear.”

          "You made what clear?"

Lara didn't run. He held his ground. Going into the 12th Hurd was trailing on all three scorecards.

OK you floored Lara with a crushing left hook in the waning seconds of the fight to give yourself the winning margin of 114-113 on two scorecards.

The third judge had the fight 114-113 for Lara.

It was a good fight and Fight of the year candidate 4 sure!

Give the man a rematch and don't be a **** about it!

Without the knockdown, Lara would have won a majority decision on the cards. It was a very close fight. Hurd was hitting gloves throughout which probably swayed a lot of people's thoughts on the fight.

If Hurd/Charlo isn't next, who would be a better opponent than Lara? A weaker opponent shows true intentions.

Agree with this. Lara can get a rematch after Hurd fights Charlo and then Jrock.

I am fine with a rematch but if Charlo-Hurd can be made next, I want that first.

The fight was close but Lara took a lot of big powerful shots especially on the inside. My hat goes off to both guys for such a wonderful and dramatic fight. i would be ok with seeing a rematch but i would prefer to see Hurd vs Charlo next.

So which is it Hurd? I know many want Charlo/Hurd, but IMO Lara deserves a rematch. He didn't make it easy for Hurd. Just have it in Miami, see how well Hurd does in that environment. It's one of the top 3 paychecks he would make, so why not? Lotta hate for Lara on this forum, so I'm sure there will be some complaining about my comments, but oh well. Nothing new.

                      LOL

No requirement for it to be in any specific place. But like I said... "Just have it in Miami, see how well Hurd does in that environment."
