Not for 'some reason', its because Andrade, as usual, ducked Charlo.

When Charlo became champ if you remember Andrade at the time was fighting Nelson. The wbc ordered that Hatley would be Charlo's mandatory and the Winner of Andrade vs Nelson would be Charlo's second mandatory (winner of vacant belt rule, two mandatories in a row to legitimise the belt).

Andrade beat Nelson and became Mandatory to Charlo.

Then some months later Andrade decides to fight for the WBA regular belt against Culcay, and loses his mandatory spot for the wbc belt (an obvious duck coz he literally could have easily asked the wbc for a stay busy fight).

He beats Culcay and as regular champion, he becomes mandatory to the super champion Lara. However, just as the WBA announces that it is going to order Lara vs Andrade, Andrade decides to move up to 160 to fight Foxy.

Anyway long story short, Andrade's cowardly ways are the reason Charlo ended up with Lubin.

The reason I have him as a slight favorite is because I think he will do better than Lara. They were on the verge of taking the fight from Hurd if he didn't get that KD. I don't think he would be that lucky against Charlo. I can tell you this, Charlo is in for a very tough fight. Hurd is a punishing fighter.
Lubin was a mandatory AND considered the favorite in that fight. He beat a guy who was presumed to be better than himself

They don't do this for unifications. They stopped that after Golovkin vs Jacobs.

Also, i dont care about same day rehydration checks. Hurd was 4 inches taller, and there was not one area on his body that looked small. His legs are HUGE, unlike a lot of tall guys who seem to fit in lower divisions. And his upper body is not small by any means. he is a big guy. The first time i ever saw him fight was vs Frank Galarza, and I knew instantly that he would become a champion if he would be able to squeeze down to 154.

Taking nothing away from him, he is a good fighter and earned his titles. But clearly he holds an extremely large size advantage over anybody fighting at 154 right now. He looked just as big as Charlo did when he fought Williams (which was huge).. Going into the Charlo v Williams fight I thought it would be pretty competitive, but once I saw them both in the ring I had real doubts that Williams would be able to handle the size difference.

Hurd is a 154 bully. It isn't unfair, because he is making the weight. But that is what is winning his fights. Good for him. He's top dog at 154. I think Charlo v Hurd is a great fight. Charlo is closer to Hurds size, has good skills and power. Hurd is still bigger, and can take a punch and still stay alert and active. Super excited to see it, and hope it happens soon.

IBF removed second day weigh in for Unification fights didn’t they? If so, Hurd at 163.6 is very surprising. Id figure he’d blow up to 170+

Hi Jermell, nice underarm sweat marks bro.

Must have been hot in here, still knocking it back with big bro Jermall I guess.

They did weigh on the day of the fight, and he was 163.6. I like what you said, "Hurd is a 154 bully. It isn't unfair, because he is making the weight." That's all I want to say, because weight-draining could be a disadvantage too! It's working for now, but it could be a problem soon! Why you think Jermall went to 160?

Dan Rafael of ESPN reported the next day weigh-ins, and Hurd was 163.6! They did second day weigh-ins on Saturday!
