Has GGG tarnished his legacy?

He's not elite because he needed the judges help to get a draw. If GGG had knocked out or very clearly beaten Canelo on points then his legacy looks stronger and he gets to say he's elite. Instead of that his best win is over Brook a far smaller man that was the 3rd best welter in the world.Comment

The definition of elite is a small handful of boxers who can beat all others, except perhaps those in that small group.
You cant pretend that Canelo is one of these elite, and yet when he is matched punch for punch by someone, that other someone isnt equivalent to his level too.
The more you advance your own argument, the more you tear it down!
You must be able to see your self destructive argument - so why are you pretending you dont notice it?Last edited by DreamFighter; 04-09-2018, 03:07 AM.Comment

but.... if you are good enough to MATCH an elite...surely that means that YOU have a case for being elite? no.

Aside from that, the more you argue that Canelo is elite, the more you are arguing that 3G is too. You are basically arguing my case for me.
I'll leave you to keep pushing on that door marked "pull"Last edited by DreamFighter; 04-09-2018, 05:00 AM.Comment

it was a draw. the evidence is they are on equal footing, with one caveat, canelo is naturally smaller (being a LMW), so he can be considered better in that respect that he moved up and still matched the best man at MW. That, I will grant you, is a solid, if minor, argument that works.
