This fight (Showtime, 10 PM EST/7 PM PST) appears to have the right blend. Cuba's Erislandy Lara isn't always entertaining but when he's put into a ring with someone who brings the fight to him all night long, good things can happen.

How accurate has Cliffy been with his picks?

Not very accurate at all. He didn’t even post his to date pick ratio, which seems to continuously get worse. With that said, and regarding his 60% pick wins thus far in 2018, I hope he’s right because I’ve gone with Hurd in my pick em!

Changed my mind on this pick like twice. Head says Lara wins a decision, out boxing his over anxious, less experienced opponent and doing just enough in each round to win a very clear UD. My gut says Hurd takes him apart and hurts him late, being the way bigger, more dangerous much more aggressive fighter who has very underrated boxing skills.

Overall, my head is usually right. So, of course I will go with my gut and look ******, like all the times you changed the right answer to a wrong one on multiple guess tests in high school.

I will take Hurd in 10.

Everyone run to Vegas and put money on Lara, quick.

Cliff only tends to pick the pick-em fights - so if he gets a 60% rate that's actually pretty good. It's easy to predict fights with 1/10 favorites - as the other guy does.

I've liked Lara's fights/career but I think Hurd might be too much in this fight. If Hurd doesn't get a tko/ko then I see a split decision result. Won't be mad if Hurd wins as I like his 'take no prisoner/fight the best attitude'

Everything tells me Hurd is tailor made for Lara but at the same time I see Hurd knocking him out.

I think Hurd gained some very valuable experience the last 2 fights vs Trout and Harrison.

LoL - interesting the head vs gut deal. I normally find my gut is right. My head says Lara - no reason to see weakness when none has been shown so far - but my gut says Hurd for the reasons you said. I'm going Hurd by late stoppage or split decision.
