Comments Thread For: James DeGale: If I Can't Do This Then I Will Call it a Day!

JAMES DEGALE knows the stakes are high in Las Vegas with his career on the line. The British super-middleweight bids to win back the IBF title in a rematch with Caleb Truax in the city where fortunes are won and lost. But the Londoner insists he was never going to gamble by dumping trainer Jim McDonnell, who has been by his side since he turned pro after winning gold at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Message for DeGale: The game is to hit and NOT get hit! Sir, you've been getting hit A LOT lately! Even if you win this fight, but you're getting hit A LOT, you might want to consider calling it a day!

Never a good sigh when a fighter talks retirement... Put all your money on Truax!

I don't normally have any time for Degale but I like his loyalty to Jimmy Mac who is a good trainer and he could have easily blamed him as many would. He's honest enough to tell it like it is here. Didn't want a late a late Vegas fight tonight but may have to. Might just be a good un.

That russian dude who knocked his teeth out in sparring took his heart. Badou Jack took what was left of his soul.

It's hard to be as ****y as "Chunky" was, take a couple ass whoopings, and still be the same afterwards.

Turkish. Rather embarrassingly for Chunky it was the same dude who had his **** pushed in by Eubank Jr not so long ago.

Indeed I just did it. Not "all" my money, though.. But I, just like you, think that if a fighter is already envisioning retirement, it's usually a signal for something seriously broken inside.

I hope Truax has doubled his homework!
