Choosing opponents so bad the commission won't approve. Didn't Golovturds attack Ward for this?
"Tom Loeffler, Golovkin’s promoter, is expected to submit the name of at least one potential replacement for Alvarez to the NSAC by Friday. If Munguia is on that list..."
Check me if I'm wrong Sandy,...but isn't Charlo already a Mandatory to one of GGG's belts. Why isn't Charlo calling out for this fight like Andraide. At least Andraide has shown a pair of balls and made his intension out there loud and clear. The Charlo fight with Centino is about as ****ty as the prospect of GGG fighting O'Sullivan. Guess Charlo is all comfy fighting a walk over and making lesser money than throwing his name in the mix for a GGG fight with the possibility of making ALOT more money. I'm sure Centino wouldn't mind a step aside check. Andraide would be the best choice (for the time being) from a fan stand point and quality of opposition. Perhaps Charlo is playing the "let's wait until GGG gets old" game like Canelo has been playing. A real Lion huh?!?!?
Charlo will become the mandatory if he wins on the 21st. No he is not currently the mandatory.
And if you haven't been living under a rock the last month and a half, according to Abel Sanchez, even if he becomes the mandatory, there is still no guarantee they'll fight Jermall at that point either.
Golovkin and/or Loeffler must have been in a severe accident ever since the completion of the Jacobs fight.
Instead of dictating terms, going after Saunders whilst the opportunity was there, they instead fell into Canelo's and ODLH's 'marination' game- which wouldn't be so egregious if it weren't for the fact that we have an aging almost undisputed champion sitting idle amongst a talent stacked division.
Munguia? WTF? If GGG is so eager to cement his legacy before he becomes a senior citizen - then the options are many, varied and lucrative - except if Al Haymon has all the remaining talent locked up.
Surely an Andrade fight, Dereyavchenko, Charlo, Heck even Chavez Jr would be preferable to another dead end, hype job fight.
Golovkin has lost something. He used to be busy, ready for anyone and knew how to completely dismantle opponents whilst still managing a smile.
Somethings got to give, change, anything. I personally think he needs to sack Abel Sanchez. GGG has 2-3 years at best before he's too slow, and since he's decided ever since the Jacobs fight to become a 'boxer' more than a pressure fighter who cuts the ring off and cuts fighters down ala Julio Cesar Chavez style, then he's going to get out-boxed.
And I'm all for every sanctioning body refusing to green light fights of this sort- not just because of the mismatch- but us fans are sick to death of the Mayweather/PBC boxing model- we want value for money; in other words the best fighting the best, not the best fighting rodeo clowns in circus type events.
Maybe the new boxing model could be a superstar in the ring with an accompanying mic, giving the fans and media a blow-by-blow of how he is beating up his 'undefeated, unheralded, dangerous, opponent'.
