First off it’s Canelos fault for this whole mess, and I’m not a GGG fan.. but I understand taking a low risk fight, he has his biggest payday months away, are DA, and the Russian better opponents..yes but they are also high risk low reward for GGG... it’s not ur money at the end of the day so I’m sure some idiot will oppose to this but if u have common sense and are an adult u understand!Comment

That's my thoughts exactly??? He setting him up for failure and cashing out. This could ruin his career before it even gets started... I've seen this happen all the time and fighters get seriously hurt.
Fighting a bigger guy, p4p top #3, with some serious fire power???? On 1 month notice. SMHComment

Because Golovkin is 35 and they don't want him out of the ring almost a year. This is essentially a tuneup.
They're planning on facing Canelo in September, period. No way the head of the NSAC, who is a political appointee put in place by the governor, is going to suspend Canelo for a year and potentially cause all that revenue to either be lost or go somewhere else.
They're going to retroactively suspend him six months from the time of the failed test, which allows him to fight in Sept.
Meanwhile, Golovkin's already had a training camp and wants to fight, so they're fighting a cherry to stay busy but not put the Canelo fight in jeopardy.
This would be the decision anyone would likely make. As a fan I do not love it but I understand it. I will not be paying for Golovkin's PPV fight in May.Comment
