    Wow, SMH

This kid just barely turned 21 years old in October.

He's a baby. And he just moved up to 154 from 147. SMH, they should have just stayed with Spike on regular HBO if this is the other option. Poor Kid.

Lol and they have the nerve to put this on PPV.......Wow.....SMH

ggg was the main person trying to call Canelo out for being smart. "No Max Canelo business man, me bring big drama show." Pretty much saying they fight for legacy first and to be the greatest, while Canelo is only out for the interest of business.

We don't even know if Golden Boy would try and make that fight between ggg and Canelo again. And chasing Canelo at this age is not smart. End of the day this is a shyt fight that has to be said.

Why wouldn't gaynaddy gay want to fight Andrade? If he wins, it looks MUCH better for him... this other guy is a no name, and no one cares about that fight. 97k for gaynaddy gay

Yall was expecting a good fighter on a 1 month turn around?

I'm guessing they're putting him in there because he's Mexican. Also as Golden Boy is the lead promoter its not realistic to think they wouldn't put one of their own fighters on the card. Get real

And the NSAC would look like a bunch of crooked bastards if they don't reject this. This is worse than Ward/Murdock.

GGG trying to preserve the payday against Canelo because his whole existence revolves around the Ginger.

The backlash of this, if confirmed, will drown out the outrage over Canelo. Trust me. Fans will turn on GGG in a hot second.
            +1 & +1

Easy for me to say since I'm not making the millions off of Canelo, but it would be awesome to see GGG against Charlo, Andrade, or BJS.

This isn't Rod Salka (top 80 a weight class below), but it darn sure makes it hard to root for The OG. Come on GGG, don't make me get rid of my GGG vampire avatar.

I don't know who is worst O Sullivan or this cat.

They both ranked around the 25th spot in their division.

Munguia is undefeated but he's a 154 pounder.

O Sullivan is wasted, got beat up by Eubank and BJS, looked bad vs Douglas despite the win.

Munguia never beat somebody worth. He's 21 years old, that is just an horrible fight.

Since GBP won't let GGG fight a top proven opponent due to the fact they're worried an injury could jeoprodize the big PPV fight, this is actually the best possible opponent. At least this kid is blue chip, similar to when Floyd fought Canelo. At least he's got top talent. If GGG is as declined as I think he is, he could actually give GGG all sorts of problems. Yes he's not proven at 160, but neither was Brook, and he gave old GGG a good go for awhile. At least it's a blue chip talent. GGG is fighting a top talent, just not a proven middleweight. That's way more exciting to me than him fighting a proven middleweight like Spike Sullivan but who is nowhere near a top talent.

They want to beat the defenses record, they are not going to fight out of 160.

This is almost worst than Hopkins vs Hakkar.

GGG needs to stop listening to Loeffler.

If you can only fight a can, then cancel and get a BJS or Andrade in june.

                      April 5, 2018:

Not official yet but, according to multiple sources, it appears as though Mexico's unbeaten 21-year-old Jaime Munguia (28-0, 24 KOs) is going to be GGG's opponent on May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on HBO PPV if the Nevada Commission approves him as the replacement for Canelo Alvarez. Munguia is an excellent junior middleweight prospect but he's faced absolutely nobody of note, has never had a scheduled 12-round fight and is not a middleweight.

Other than that, sounds like a great pick! Lol!
