Erislandy Lara isn't the least bit concerned about Jarrett Hurd using Alfredo Angulo's game plan against him Saturday night. Hurd has stated throughout the buildup toward their super welterweight title unification fight that he'll apply pressure and attack Lara the way Angulo did during his eventual loss to Lara, and then some. That's fine by Lara, who overcame knockdowns in the fourth and ninth rounds to stop Angulo in the 10th round of their 154-pound title fight in June 2013 in Carson, California.

Angulo definitely hasn't looked even halfway decent since that night. Birds only shot is if his size prices to be too much for lara. That's his only advantage over lara.

v's Angulo is no comparison the guy was finished but this is an interesting matchup...Hurd is going to have to catch him with that one big shot... Laura is so good defensively any slick and as of late he's even showed some power will be a very interesting fight I'm looking forward to watching...

If this looks anything like the Angulo fight then it will be Hurd constantly coming forward taking bad punishment all night while landing a few of his own that may or may not hurt Lara. It's a dangerous game plan but it makes for an exciting fight.

let's go hurd,choosing hurd to wear Lara down with pressure...not necessarily pressuring him to a stoppage win but successfully pressurising him to a defensive and timid style for the most part of the fight

Lara barely survived Angulo. Lara is older now and Hurd is bigger than Angulo. I think Lara is afraid that Hurd will come at him like Angulo. I’m sure it is a nightmare he does not want to repeat.

Since Hurd beat Frank Galarza he has shown a different style, I hope Lara is not just banking on the come fwd pressure style, he will be surprised ! Hurd can just fight that type of style if he has to trap and catch his opponent, too big too young too strong too overwhelming and he can fight slick if need be... He will make Larar fight

lara and shields took the fight b/c they are thinking paul williams. i'm not sure hurd will put his head in a meat grinder like angulo did.
