My thoughts on fighting in the UK were only reinforced this past Saturday in Cardiff and I'm sure many casuals are beginning to share my outlook, even the Brits.

Yes some of you mocked me for telling you all along Joshua's power was overrated and his boxing abilities are mediocre, but once again I get the last laugh at you clowns! A.J has been exposed.

Joshua also said It would be a war and he'd stop Parker in 9 rounds.

Neither happend. I'm wondering if the the scare vs Klitschko made him abit gun shy because he didn't seem to have much belief in his own chin or stamina 2 fights in a row. Time will tell if he's transitioning into a safety first fighter.

Joshua isnt cherry picking ? Thats exactly what hes doing ,fighting Wilder left overs like Gavern and Molina PROVE that .

Your clearly not seeing the smoke screans team Joshua is using .

Wilder is taking on all comers , the Stivernes and Arreolas are top elite competition .

Lets not forget Kownacki and undefeated Breazeale and Whyte waiting in the wings , while Joshua pads his record against guys outside the top 20. Klitchko wasnt even a champion when he fought him the bum beater .


AJ fanboys ,ha who has he fought recently ? And how come he has no credible wins on his resume compared to 40 fight Wilder who cleaned out the entire division and is a unified 4 belt champion .

No professional trainer would agree with your theory in the fact Parker had to overcome the reach and height advantage, its evident that Joshua was able to use his reach and disable Parker's offense from long range.

History shows that the smaller man usually has to get inside sir to knock the big man.

Joseph Parker needed the inside work to win this fight, whilst Joshua obviously didn't.

How about a legendary professional trainer like Emanuel Steward? He had a distinctly tall fighter in W. Klitschko and taught him to utilise a "jab and grab" strategy which made him one of the most dominant champions in HW history (albeit in a weak era).

There is a distinct difference between inside fighting and clinching.

If what you are saying was true then Steward would be negating his own fighter's physical attributes; in actual fact he recognised that Wlad could dominate most of his opponents using his height and strength in the clinch whilst negating their inside game.

Parker was the smaller fighter and so had to get past Joshua's reach, but once a clinch is engaged the bigger/stronger man's strength is going to take its toll on a smaller/weaker fighter as the fight progresses. How many times have you seen HW's lean on their opponents? I've seen it a hell of a lot. See Tyson Fury's knockout of Steve Cunningham for a perfect example of how a bigger man imposes his strength on a smaller one in the clinch.

Again, Tyson is the prototypical short fighter, his inside game was 10/10, but see how Holyfield tied him up and frustrated him in the clinch.

The ref did not (and could not under the rules) break up the fighters when they were fighting inside - only where they were clinching, which is exactly where the bigger man's strength will come into play.

So, in summary, yes. Parker did need to get inside Joshua's reach to win the fight - but ideally he needed to get in and out again. The referee did not stop him from working inside, he stopped the fighters from wrestling in (and fighting out of) clinches, both of which would have favoured the bigger fighter.

Wilder needs to knock AJ out to win regardless of whether it takes place in the US or UK, so concerns about the judges shouldn't be too worrying.
