It’s good news that he wants a war. In boxing, all you need is a good chin and a right hand but I’ve been working on finesse, technique, counter punching,” said Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs). “I hope Joseph Parker falls into my booby traps because I’m going to set him up with some power shots as well.

Yeah, I’ll be up for a war. I’ll hopefully be up for some blood, sweat, and cheers from my corner
It's probably not advisable to try and sell a fight by saying "I want to go 12 rounds. I'm just going to box a safe fight behind my jab and not take chances". It just wouldn't get casual fans excited would it?

It was good for Joshua to get the rounds in. He's still a work in progress and getting 33 rounds out of his last three fights and improving his stamina, pace and skills is a good idea. It helps his seasoning and is the type of effort that can prolong his career.

I actually think he could’ve KO’d Parker if he wasn’t playing it safe. Parker was starting to get fatigued around the 7th round. I’m sure Joshua was too but Parker looked to be in worst shape because of all that movement. There’s nothing wrong with going the distance but this seemed like a fight he could’ve ended if he stepped up the pressure and threw more combos.

Oh my bad. I thought he was talking about Mayweather's whole career, I missed the part where he said "after Mayweather's 17th professional fight".

Boring fight and personally I wasn't impressed with AJ's performance. Parker was awkward but still not AJ's best showing. The worst part of the fight was the referee continually breaking them up at the slightest clinch. Terrible.

the AJ slurpers are so dedicated to the slurp life that they pretend they enjoyed this abysmal snoozefest.

Mayweather NEVER EVER had a fight like this. every single fight from Floyd that was labeled "boring" is because it was a one sided clinic with Floyd landing flush all night and not getting hit back.

AJ spent all night MISSING and looking confused. how the fck do AJ slurpers compare that to ANY fight from Floyd?

AJ never established range. never figured out how to land the right hand. people sht on Wilder's technique but he eventually had the range down vs Ortiz and found a home for his right hand. that's called boxing IQ.

what fckn IQ did AJ display here? please tell me.

Parker easily took the first two rounds. that already tells me the judges were paid off and criminal because no way in fckn hell did AJ win 10 rounds. no way.

just because a round is dull doesn't mean you automatically give it to AJ. that's called slurping. AJ groupies are beyond delusional.

I wanna sit down with a few AJ slurpers so they can logically explain to me how AJ won this fight so wide.

                corruption on full display.

The fight was trash but part of me thinks that Joshua didn't go all out for the finish since he likes Parker. Just the feeling I got.

You think Parker easily won the first two rounds? easily?

The second round was close but Joshua won the first round clearly, imo. Both rounds all of the pressure was coming from Joshua who occupied the centre of the ring. Sure, that's not enough to win a round in and of itself, but in a round where not much happens it's pretty easy to see how it can influence the judges. If you're boxing off the back foot as Parker was all night then you need to be clearly landing the better punches to win rounds because your opponent is the one who is imposing their position on you.

I gave both first two rounds to Joshua, personally I don't think the judging was particularly controversial. Joshua dominated a fairly forgettable fight.

It wasn't a good performance from Joshua, it didn't raise his stock and there are still doubts about his fitness which Wilder might exploit. However, he won the fight easily without taking any significant damage; I'd argue that that fact alone demonstrates that he showed boxing IQ. He used his better reach and positioning to negate Parker's hand-speed advantage; that also showed boxing IQ.

I'm not a particular fan of Joshua or Wilder, but people who post about either of them being terrible fighters just seem dumb to me. Just because a fighter has a weakness doesn't make them a **** fighter. Wilder and Joshua both have weaknesses and strengths.

Man. This fight was overhyped and not nearly as close as good as I thought it was going to be. Joshua said he finessed Parker the whole match but its not nearly as good as he makes it seem. Boring fight.
