There are several names out there who could possibly fight GGG on May 5th.
Billy Joe Saunders is not ready to step in becaue of a hand injury, according to Frank Warren.
Some fighters already called out GGG and said they were ready to step in, some others remained quiet and nobody knows if they would take the GGG fight on short notice.
Fighters who claim to be ready: Derevyanchenko (#1 IBF), Demetrius Andrade, Spike o Sullivan, Ramirez (at 168), Chavez Jr (at 168)
Fighters who are suddenly quiet: Daniel Jacobs , Jermall Charlo (#1 WBC)
My personal #1 choice would be Jermall Charlo, he is the #1 WBC mandatory and has a fight in late April, he is in full training camp and that could be the most exciting fight, but whats up with Jermall? How is he not the first willing to step in on May 5th?
My second pick would be Daniel Jacobs, he also has a fight in late April, is in training camp and already had a good first fight vs Golovkin, but he also seems to have gone missing.
My third pick would be Derevyanchenko, he will bring a real challenge, he is in his prime, very strong and exciting, and is also the #1 IBF mandatory. The only problem is that he is not really known among casual fans.
