Who do you want to see against GGG on May 5th?

There are several names out there who could possibly fight GGG on May 5th.

Billy Joe Saunders is not ready to step in becaue of a hand injury, according to Frank Warren.

Some fighters already called out GGG and said they were ready to step in, some others remained quiet and nobody knows if they would take the GGG fight on short notice.

Fighters who claim to be ready: Derevyanchenko (#1 IBF), Demetrius Andrade, Spike o Sullivan, Ramirez (at 168), Chavez Jr (at 168)

Fighters who are suddenly quiet: Daniel Jacobs , Jermall Charlo (#1 WBC)

My personal #1 choice would be Jermall Charlo, he is the #1 WBC mandatory and has a fight in late April, he is in full training camp and that could be the most exciting fight, but whats up with Jermall? How is he not the first willing to step in on May 5th?

My second pick would be Daniel Jacobs, he also has a fight in late April, is in training camp and already had a good first fight vs Golovkin, but he also seems to have gone missing.

My third pick would be Derevyanchenko, he will bring a real challenge, he is in his prime, very strong and exciting, and is also the #1 IBF mandatory. The only problem is that he is not really known among casual fans.

Jacobs rematch, Charlo, Saunders would be my preference.

Charlo would make for the best fight, if not him then the Jacobs rematch.

I voted Derevyanchenko to see how how he does, it’ll show us more about his potential and level.
        If not, then Charlo.

Ideally though, if Canelo gets indeed canceled, to hell with May 5th, get BJS scheduled for June, or whenever he is available, but asap.

I voted for Derevyanchenko. Charlo and Jacobs aren't realistic because they already have fights scheduled for this month and it would throw entire cards out of wack. Chavez Jr would be a meaningless fight and cynical cash grab. Spike O'Sullivan needs to earn a shot. He's done nothing to justify it. Rameriez is a good option but it should be for September for that Mexican holiday. Not enough notice to make the fight as big as it could be. September would be perfect.

Derevyanchenko is a mandatory bout GGG has to fight eventually. May as well take care of it now. Andrade would be the next option but he really needs to do more to earn a fight as well.

Seems like HBO is pushing for that May 5th date. None of us know anything about the logistics etc but it seems like GGG will be fighting on May 5th.

Some good points here, but Charlo is just fighting a really irrelevant opponent on the undercard of Gervonta Davis vs Cuellar and Adrien Broner vs Jessie Vargas. They could easily pay that Hugo Centeno dude some step aside money, Centeno is also managed by Al Haymon.

He'd be picking blood out of it for a good week after a fight with GGG.
