I don't like Spike, but not crazy about Andrade either. Andrade barely made it past Jack Culcay, and that was at 154. What's his resume, Martirosyan, another SD win?

Good for him that he's getting some hype, but objectively, Andrade is almost as bad of a choice.

They need to get a better fight than either one of these. Derevyanchenko is the best one IMO, but that opinion is not shared by many. Ramirez may be worth going to 168 for, especially since they have Cinco de Mayo and HBO date reserved. Or a unification with Saunders is tasty.

You're not seriously suggesting Andrade and Spike are equal quality opponents.... That's the fan in you speaking. You're not being honest. I watch every Golovkin fight but I'd actually skip the Spike fight to any number of other things instead. Dude is complete trash. Andrade at least has some technique and presents a challenge.

        Please stop throwing accusations around.

No, I did not suggest that they're equal. I suggested that they are both trash opponents for Golovkin, but Andrade is getting hyped for some reason. Golovkin is a unified MW champion and P4P fighter. Andrade has 1 fight at MW (in which he got dropped), and 2 close split decision wins at 154 against barely world level opposition (Culcay & Martirosyan).

Andrade has no business being in this fight, and neither does Spike.

Isn't Spike with Golden Boy Promotions? It makes sense if they pick him.

I’m not sure that Saunders didn’t pull out of the Murray fight in anticipation that this fight could get called off.

Not sure why you're being dense, you used to be a good person to have an argument with.

1 - I clearly did not say they're the same.
2 - I'm not comparing Andrade to Spike. I'm comparing them as potential opponents for Golovkin. In other words, Duhaupas is obviously better than Robert Helenius. That doesn't mean that Joshua or Wilder should fight either one.

You contradicted yourself and I gently pointed it out. You don't need to act frustrated and childish about it. I was trying to be cool with you.

Talent aside, Spike is unknown in the US. Andrade has some momentum. Beyond that, everyone known Andrade poses a challenge whereas OSullivan does not.

How are people actually blaming Golovkin for this? I mean, are we going to pretend like his opponent he signed to fight, Canelo, isn't at fault and it's GGG? I'm not excited to see Spike fight Golovkin, but I'm assuming the venue has already been booked and paid for somehow and there would be a lot of lost money if there is no fight.

I recognize this is a dull fight, what's Spike's claim to fame? Hurting Eubank Jr. in the 3rd round of their fight (which he obviously lost), or when he got his ears boxed off by Saunders?

The only fights I want to see are pretty much not possible. Saunders has some sort of excuse (injured or he's fighting Murray?), Canelo tested positive, Jacobs is fighting Sulecki, Charlo is fighting Centeno.... so who else does that really leave? I was really hoping they could make Saunders vs Golovkin last minute, but I seriously doubt it.
