It kind of did backfire on him a bit, but just because Matchroom are controlling the narrative. If he'd have gone then he would have Whyte shoved in his face and Joshua would have been silent on the matter of the fight. Damned if he went, damned if he didn't. Might as well stay at home and not bother with the long flight.

I’ve never seen another fighter ever demand they can go in the ring. Do you imagine the hype which would’ve increased for the fight if wilder had tried to enter and he was man handled and stopped? His % for any fight would have just gone up 10%, reality is Hearn, Matchroom and Joshua wouldn’t be stopping that sort of thing live on tv.
Totally agree although is Wilder not now worth less due to Joshua having another belt, If Wilder had more manners and stop trying to act like the A side this fight would of happened already.

I think we all over look what Joshua has done in the last 3 Years has been amazing considering he has only been professional for 5 years. The Heavy Weight division has been plagued by cherry pickers since the klitschko days, this lad is trying to bring it all back together.

This is the reason I can not listen to anything about Wilder 10 years pro and nothing of any value to speak about. In fact if Joshua was my fighter Wilder would be offered nothing more than 20% or leave him and WBC to live in there own world why fighters queue up to fight Joshua.

I for one could not work out why he accepted to go maybe he needed the money he is hardly an A list boxer based on his earnings.

I thought so at first but Wilder is doing his part in America making his rounds Promoting himself and that fight. Also got a phone interview with Kugan Cassius IFL TV as well so come on he didn't miss anything really. Wilder is the most Accessible Fighter probably in all of boxing. He is always on with the Youtubers who cover boxing so he is doing all he can to become a bigger name I give him credit for that at least.
