I don't mean to always be a trouble maker, but if properly scoring this fight it came out that the judges were accurate and precise, then what does that say about scoring in boxing matches? One thing that is killing fights is this fear of scoring a fight a draw. In Football if a team wins by 3 touchdowns it makes a big difference in how they played, versus if they lost by a field goal. In boxing, a guy coasts and gets the same reward as a guy who does everything short of knocking down his opponent...and often only because someone has to be given the round. its just not an accurate reflection of what happened in the ring.

Another thing that kills it is punch stat which should be done electronically and then a person subtracting per the round which punches missed the opponent...these judges would be behind a round the entire fight and then deliver the analysis at the end. And finally? The 12 rounds sucks, the so called championship rounds, 13-14 and 15, are rounds that a puncher, boxer puncher needs to be on equal footing to a guy who is coasting in the early rounds and, winning because no judge wants to score a draw...the later rounds are easier to score, the fight has opened up, unlike the early rounds.

Ray Corso says it best: I don't know if he agrees with my analysis here but when he says the style of fighting has become that of the amatuer system... the style that guys fight in is very Ammy looking to me, and if you want to win matches? fight at home, coast and steal the early rounds with a few placed jabs, and hold on a bit and you will become a defensive genius. By the time the puncher has you on the run, and you took a few shots it might be the eleventh round, just rinse and repeat, no gut check there at the end, nothing forcing you to engage.

Oh and of course not to worry about the body...refs like the one who did this fight will have no body blows allowed! Guys who make it a fight, and go to the body are dirrrrrrty fighters!!! This sport has to make it out of snowflake land or MMA will eventually become real boxing.

Had it 115-113 to Joshua, or perhaps a draw.

First few rounds were somewhat even. Parker won most of the middle rounds. Joshua won the last three rounds.

When I saw it live I had it 116-112 for Joshua

I saw the replay and scored it on paper and had it 117-111 for Joshua

Perhaps another round could have went to Parker.

But overall it was a 117-111 or 116-112 victory for Joshua based on my scores.

8-4 AJ, both phucked around. After watching this fight again, am more disappointed in Parker, you are a champion in your own right, you know you are NOT getting a decision against AJ here, you talk shit about Hughie Fury and the way he fought you (And rightly so), but you basically turned up and sold your belt to a lame performance. Am actually surprised that a lot more people are not having a go at Parker, because maybe he could have got AJ out of there if he was more game. It seems not getting KO was a victory for Parker.

I don't care to see Parker in any fights again.

Versus Ruiz, Cojanu, Fury and now Joshua

All of these fights with Parker have been dull and sleep inducing.

Watching it again I had it 9-3 Joshua. Could be 10-2

I had it 116-112. Had it even after 8. Won't watch it again but 7-5 could have been acceptable as could 9-3.

I predicted 116-112 but thought there would be more action.
