I mean come on guys, let's put the pom-poms down on both sides and do the maths. Wilder was being methodically outboxed against Ortiz for the majority of the fight and was very close to being stopped. So much so that the doctor had to give him more time to recover and he spent the next few rounds backing off and trying to survive. Yes, a similar thing happened to AJ against Vlad, but if we're simply talking about Deontay and Anthony's LAST performances, then how can anyone say Wilder was better? He got a more conclusive win no doubt, but he looked way more vulnerable than Joshua ever did last night imo.
So those who are saying "Wilder would have watched that and gained confidence", well don't you think AJ can put on that Ortiz fight, watch the middle rounds and gain confidence too?
